Those are the most consistent VFL numbers we've had from any draftee in the past 6-7 years. Cunners, ziebell, Basti, atley none of those blokes when they played VFL consistently got numbers like that. 22-24 posession games in the VFL are a lot better than what you regard them as because there is less time in VFL games too.

Don't deflate the fact that he was playing in an average side with a dogs mess of a midfield either. Getting tagged may I add. Each to their own I guess but that's my justification Philly!

I rate Dumont and think he would benefit us playing in the midfield allowing ziebell to play forward more. He has a better tank and better spread than Jack.
I completely agree with that last paragraph. I would love to see Dumont in without the sub rule and Ziebell spending more time forward.

So you want to go back to gifting young players games ?
Mate, pointing out the inconsistency with which this forum applies that particular maxim is like shooting (gold)fish in a ****ing shot glass. With a bazooka.

My Gibbo spidey-senses drew me to this thread but, sadly, I'm not garner fuel the derailment by tailoring a reply to all the Gibbo in(s)anity. All I'll say is that the outpouring of angst from his detractors is directly proportional to the enjoyment I'll derive from seeing him named in the Round 1 side.

To quote my old friend fairdinkum, :thumbsu:.

Like how a hard running midfielder Gibson altered his game in the finals last year to turn into a defensive mid and shutdown Ellis and Jetta in 2 finals ?

Did I mention he also kicked 3 goals in last year's final series playing as a defensive mid...

I think Gibbo has shown he is a very adaptable player who can play a variety of roles.
True about last year but he cannot play various roles as it throws our team out of whack but we have a new list this year and the club needs to evolve as this was 6 months ago.........Gibson isn't an elite midfielder on our list, his link up work is good but thats it other areas in his game that isn't that great......if it was he'd be in Hawthorns system still. The club, if its going to be a serious threat then all the pieces need to fall into place. We need Atley, JMac, Wright Cunnington and Ziebell driving the message this year and players like Gibson, Firrito, Thomas need to bring their "A" game each week only for the sheer fact there are others who are capable of replacing them. We all know that we're not going to play the same 22 all year. But the 3 I've mentioned I feel are sitting in the hot seat....... its their positions to lose.

Dal Santo in for Wright and Mullet or Dumont in for Jacobs and it's a sexy looking team.

I watched the Richmond final last night as a final tip of the hat to 2015 before we get into 2016 proper. It was also a timely reminder as to how well Garner played in that game.

I'd be picking him for Rd1 and I'd be happy to persevere if he got off to a slowish start. He could bring a shitload to this team.

Good bump. Reckon he's gonna light it up today.

I saw him in the "intra club" against Werribee back in Feb and he was manic that day. Think he's been barely out of first gear since then, quite possibly holding himself back.

I expect full throttle animal tonight. Will be a sight to see.

He's better suited to high pressure and intense matches, he thrives on contested style games and making an impact.
