Garner is not mediocre. He is chronically injured. Best 22 when fit. Rather him play 6 games a year than Wood or Hosie playing 22.

He’s no gun either.

Even in his best year (2017) he didn’t manage a goal per game.

If we are serious, all three shouldn’t be on the list.

fu** me this blokes talent gets overplayed around these parts...seems like the less he plays the more he gets rated by some around here.

He has a bit of mongrel and is capable of some good contested marking but ultimately he is a limited footballer...he is a one dimensional half forward to who has limited speed, average decision making and poor goal kicking.

As much as it sucks we can’t hold onto these types of players for 8+ years expecting things to change.

Lazy preparation leads to pi55 poor performance. Nothing against his talent as he is gleaming with it & always will but his training ethic as far as injury prevention has been poor . You can’t just blame his so much time out of the game through injuries to just “unlucky “

We could delist 20 blokes without thinking. He’ll never be the player he could have been, but he could provide a bit of mongrel for another year if he can stay in the park.

There's no point bringing in 10 kids from a highly compromised draft mate, so we're going to have to persist with a few, and Taylor earns a spot right at the top of the re-contract list based upon application.
