Our biggest game for 3 years imo. Up against the emerging Tigers - cannot wait - and we enter the 8 with a win. Havnt been able to say that for soooo long..

And I think we should do everything possible to make these games - Melbourne vs Richmond - as mammoth as possible. If Melbourne vs Richmond is a 70K+ game every time then both clubs are assured of a big bucket of win and neither has to rely on matches against someone like Collingwood (especially) to ensure it's a marquee match. Our marketing and football departments should ensure that twice a year, Saturday afternoon at the G' is a battle of the real co-tenants.

Absolutely agree. Everyone knows Richmond will explode if regularly finalling and in all honesty we won't be relying on Collingwood or anyone to draw well. Melbourne have a fairly quiet and consequently ignored but still sizable support around town definitely ahead of Dogs, Saints and North as a potential drawcard and probably on a par with hawks if you can get it together.

The two Real tenants have absolutely no excuse for how we have both been going and should be able to set up a decent rivalry in years to come. There is no reason why we cannot get close to 60,000 this week.

Speaking as someone stuck in Brisbane, I'm enormously jealous. Can't think of anything else I'd rather do than be back home in Melbourne, watching the Dees at the MCG on a Saturday afternoon. THAT is what footy's all about to me.

I'll be listening on the radio and observing all manner of superstitions and rituals in the absolute certainty that they do make all the difference LOL.
