Episode 1 was poignant and the Conservative Government would've disliked parts of it.

Some shocks, this person walked in and sat down and I wondered who it was.......

Not surprised at the other news as I seem to recall it at the time.

Its easy to say its turned boring or hasnt moved in any direction, but thats what age does. People slot into their lives after 50 and not much will change for them , apart from death and illness.

People have mellowed and of them all I still like Tony

I tried to work out when I first started watching and I want to say 28Up so 1983/84 or so but definitely by 35UP. I do think it is groundbreaking and it has highlighted the Jesuit idiom.
 
They made reference in the opening ‘who will be the factory worker, the shop steward, the manager, the boss?’

Or something like that. Just shows in the early sixties they still thought manufacturing would go on forever.

Very few of the participants worked in factories and if they did it was food production. The signs of the times
