Just a quick glance at the ladder and we have a decent incentive to win this week. If we manage a win against Norf which is more than possible, Essendon gets over Richmond which is very conceivable, and Geelong gets over the Paaaaaaer which is probable, we go to 6th. Would be on equal points to port, collingwood and Richmond, but our % (thanks GWS and st kilda) will be far superior to all 3 of them, which could be as good as an extra 4 points come the business end.

Just a bit of fun speculation, but its nice to dream......... Could set us up for a tilt at top 4 still, which given we were 2-4 and being written off by most for the season, is great.

Last years loss to norf really hurt. After the game on the on ground interview you'll hear Scott Thompson make reference to that.

I don't think Essendon will win, I think it'll be mostly downhill for them.

Hmm........never said 'we will', said 'we could' be 6th with some hope there and 3 very realistic possible results. We're actually not far off being right in the mix after a bad start to the season. I prefer to think positively about our chances and didn't realise we were actually well in the mix till I had a look. But if you want to sprout completely pointless irrelevant crap about next year that's fine.

I was only just looking at the same scenario. We would be top four if we hadn't let the essendon and port leads go to waste. Season is far from over.

No I didn't! Didn't expect them to pick up 20% in a game. Maybe should've checked and seen they had GWS.
Anyway......2/2 results have gone our way so far, now it's up to us! If we win by a few goals we should stay above west coast.

Yep absolutely. Even if we do lose, which I don't think we will, we can take comfort in the knowledge that Port are down to 8th after 4 straight losses, and Collingwood are now out of the 8, with Thomas gone, Swan playing like he don't want to be there, and Shaw gone to injury too. A win tomorrow would just cap it all off.

But really it's just Maths, getting a win doesn't increase it, having a greater margin than your average margin does.

Defensive score is important. Because their score was high, even though we won, it does dent your %. To keep a good % you've got to keep the oppositions score reasonably low.
