The Saints have to sell 285,000 memberships to pay for NAS. Since they are the only 3 game memberships, they only need to have 78,000 seats available for 11 home games. Considering their home ground has 55,000 odd capacity, they can force the AFL to move them to the MCG and get all the big advantages that the MCG tenants get.

Saints are playing 4D chess without an accountant saying no.

Even if it's not cannibalising people who would otherwise buy memberships at full price, it costs the club money each time someone scans in. So they're probably going backwards for each 'member' who attends one game.
