Love it how people bag others out over the internet.

I have meet Ben out at a pub before, he was great to chat to. He had all the time in the world, he even came up later on in the day and had a beer with me.
Wayne Carey was a great bloke as well - So AS thought

Which pub were you at?

Anyway I hope this all blows over and Lennon stays and plays good footy for us. Everyone has been quick to forget that he missed a lot of the year through injury and from what I remember he hasn't really managed a full pre-season yet.

The 'he has a bad attitude' point is fair, Lids said that Lenno didn't like hearing that, but he took that criticism on board and he's doing his best to adjust. Doing 4 private sessions during the off-season is a good sign.

So do i, it sounds like its just his attitude. Hopefully this trade period wakes him up and we get a fitter and more determined Lennon. I was at the Richmond club

Lennon did a big write up stating how he was going to be fully focused etcetc ,so who's telling porkies?
This trade is getting hijacked with internal rumblings involving Jack (slight) Lids and Lennon and managers IMO leaking stuff out to the media to feather their nests. Clubs like StKilda have players walking in like they're ManU or Chelsea. Bloody annoying our lack of professionalism as these rumbles were heard months ago and should have been dealt with then and not now.

There is also one prob with the "its dimmas fault" argument. If he truly hates dimma, wtf did he re-sign in 2015 when he had the option of going to carlton???
12 months is long time.

Na. He's just slow by foot and slower by mind. Can't develop either of those traits. Just a crap draft pick, inspired by the playing group after Lemon spent time with them before the draft.
This is a load of crap. But in any case Lennon was one of the best in a preseason trial game.

I'm really disappointed with Lennon. He really does have plenty of skills that we need in our side such as his excellent overhead marking and reliable footskills in front of goal and to set up players. He has deficiencies though such as his speed and defensive discipline.

What I'm most disappointed in is his self entitled, sooky arrogance which has meant that he has played the victim and pointed the finger at the club and injures for his under performance. The reality is is that he just needs to grow up, listen to the criticism from his coaches and work harder! It's only now when he has realized that he isn't as desirable as he first believed to other clubs that he has tried to improve his fitness, speed etc.

I really hope that he can grow up, accept he needs to work harder to become an AFL footballer and stops blaming others for his own issues. If he can do this and learns to fight for his spot in the team, he will become an asset to our club but otherwise.....enjoy decades of bemoaning lost chances and 'if only'.

I hope he stays because I don't feel we will get anything for him and I feel he has a big upside.....if he stops acting like a spoiled Private School boy that is! :D

Correct me if this is incorrect (but its not)
Lennon's 12 month timeline.
ok, so by the end of 2015, Lennon was in the 22, and playing good footy.
Come EF, he gets dropped for an unfit Reece Conca.
He gets pee'd off (as you would), and with his contract being up, the scum come in with an offer that he seriously thinks about (as you would - especially since he was a scum supporter growing up)
He thinks, then says, 'no i want to stay and have a crack'
he then gets glandular fever (which i had a a child and it knocks the absolute stuffing out of you), which means he couldnt do a preseason .
he comes back and plays 2 games while under done then gets dropped then does his shoulder.
comes back for 1 game then gets dropped again
in the 3 games he played this year - he averaged 13 possies, 6 marks, 3 tackles and 3 inside 50's. he only kicked one goal, but his stats were better than they were when he was in the team for the final 8 rounds last year.
so yeah, he has not done much, but the last 12 months have been pretty ordinary for him really, and a lot of peolple are pretty quick to savage him.

He gets a full preseason into him, he will play 15 games next year. he is a very clever player, can be a good mid sized forward next year.

Great post - Lennon also was coming off hip surgery at the end of 2015 before he contracted glandular fever and then had 2 bouts of concussion before the shoulder surgery and a rolled ankle. It was clear he was not match fit when he played his final game, however he still was involved in at least 4 goals on the day. Given a full pre-season (which would be the first time in his 4 years) and with plenty of motivation to prove his critics wrong, I think Lennon will have a very good 2017

Heard today the club actually offered to delist him ( mutual agreement where he gives up his contract)
There is a club thats interested in him but only on a rookie list - He declined and doesnt want to opt out of his contract

This bloke is a piece of work
Sounds like a load of shit tbh.

We're on record of saying he has talent ect but "he" has a desire to look elsewhere.

Happy that Ben will be a Tiger in 2017
