Ranked 9th in the AFL for total hit-outs

Standout

Round 23, 2018 (versus Sydney): A herculean effort in the ruck from our workhorse, McEvoy recorded 15 disposals and had 52 hit-outs for the game. Yes, his main opponent, Callum Sinclair, wasn't much chop, but McEvoy was fantastic in the clinches for the Hawks, recording seven clearances for the night as the Hawks secured a top four finish.

Shocker

Qualifying Final, 2018 (versus Richmond): Not a night for the talls, given the conditions, but the Hawks needed McEvoy and Ceglar to dominate in the ruck to nullify Nankervis and Grigg to give the Hawks midfield a chance. Only eight disposals and zero marks (along with 34 hit-outs) was not the return the Hawks needed from McEvoy.

A great servant and a wonderful mark who’s getting better with age. Lets scout more Saints talent!

Good season from a good player. Real leader out there. I think we need him to play deep forward more in 2019.

McEvoy up forward in between spells would serve nicely. We're still looking for that David Hale replacement.

BB knows his ruck craft.
I think he should be trained with the forwards & pinch hit in the ruck.
Easily a 25+ goal player as a permanent forward & that power marking forward we are in need of.
With his fitness & durability, as a forward, could play for another 3-4 years pending any major injury.
This guy could go down as one of the greats if he has a Paul Salmon like career as a forward.

I personally think he should be the next captain.

He’s like a dad to me...but age-wise could be my son.

WTF

If you read Emma Quayle's The Draft, it seems like McEvoy has been that way since he was playing under 18 football. Very mature head on his shoulders.

Ben McEvoy’s remarkable football journey is set to continue into next year as he replicates Paul ‘Fish’ Salmon’s brilliant five-year stint with the Hawks.
McEvoy will play his 100th game with Hawthorn against his old club St Kilda this Sunday at Marvel Stadium.
The big man turned out to be another recruiting masterstroke by the Hawks, being traded for St Kilda’s Shane Savage and pick 18 (Luke Dunstan).

He has been the best offensive weapon as a ruck for a few years now, really stamping that position beyond a doubt this year though.

How many players will it take to shoulder-carry him off the field?

Ben knockers aren’t watching

And there are Ben knockers. Has been excellent so far this year and might end up being our most important player (versatility included)

He liked the tap to himself to try and get the ball forward?
