Round 3, 2019 (versus North Melbourne): Earned maximum Yabby medal votes for his 16 disposal, two goal and 22 hit-out performance against North Melbourne at the MCG. The Hawks needed to come from behind to secure victory against the Kangaroos, and as part of a dual-pronged ruck division (Ceglar had 11 disposals and 17 hit-outs himself) against Goldstein and Tom Campbell, McEvoy was influential in securing Hawthorn's victory.

Round 14, 2019 (versus Sydney Swans): McEvoy enjoyed a fairly consistent season but one low-light was his round 14, 2019 performance against the Swans and Callum Sinclair. With Sydney going into the game with only one full-time ruckman (Sinclair had support from Sam Reid), you'd think that the combination of McEvoy and Ceglar would eventually wear down their opponent. However, while McEvoy had 24 hit-outs, he only had six disposals (all handballs) and no marks for the game as the Hawks went down by 19 points to spell the end effectively of Hawthorn's chances to play finals.
