Jack only played the first game against Geelong on the weekend. Lined up on the wing at the start of the game. Had 5 possessions and showed a lot of poise when it came time to dispose of the ball. Had one poor kick but the other four touches all found a target. Wasn't moving as freely as he had been at training. I think he may have been slightly hindered by the knock he copped in the intra-club.

Seemed to injure himself quite badly at one stage. During a marking contest he went up for a spoil and came down awkwardly, landing on one knee which dug into the ground, and his back bent backwards quite violently. He played out the game but I would assume he is a very sore lad at the moment, and wouldnt mind seeing him rested this week to make sure that it doesn't hinder his preparations for the season proper.

Looking forward to a big season from Jack. I hope its one in which he is able to play all 22 games and generally dominate in the middle.

Pure luck.

***** go harder than Ziebell and survive through a whole season. He was born to play through the middle. Anything under 70% through the middle and I'd be pretty ****ing disappointed.

Half back/half forward here and there until he gets continuity but it's in the middle where he will play a huge part for our club.

CHF though and we will go nowhere fast.

I'll have a go....

Footy Smarts & Mindless Recklessness

Just Footy Smarts

Someone should have had a word to Wayne earlier in his career about toning down his attack on the ball.
Very good, except I was discussing Jack. How does he compare with the King? And with Lance? Or Arch? Or Stevo?

You'll ruin him if he stacks on more weight.

He needed to lose a few kgs last year IMO.
He's not that big. He just needs to get fitter.

Problem with Ziebs is that he isn't strong enough to do at AFL level what he could in the TAC. He'll be as a strong as an Ox in a few years and will be able throw blokes off him Gary Ablett style.

Like almost every other midfielder on our list he just needs more development time.

Strong enough to do it to plenty of players already. It's not only about pure strength and it's an apt comparison with GA. Some players are just better at using their body to advantage.

Agree with the last, he needs more time to be what I think he can be but in the meantime I think he can be a very good player for us.
