Me too. He needed the kick in the pants for being "the guy most likely to break out this year" since Hird and Thompson arrived but has not played good footy after a good start to the season.

I also think he's suffered from a bit of unintentional prejudice. Aborginal, moves well and is small so he gets played as a forward pocket. I don't think it is a role that suits him. He's an outside mid and with the time he spent there in the VFL this year I hope he comes back as that high half forward who plays like an outside mid just forward of the contest. His balance and disposal is very good and I'd be very happy if he got the ball 10 times a game forward of center with time to deliver forward. Clearly a confidence player and that was shot to bits this year and despite putting together some quality games in VFL struggled and looked lost in the AFL.

Where Leroy struggles though, as will Colyer, is that Essendon has invested in young mids who can play on a flank over the last few years and if he doesn't look like a best 22 lock then they'll be getting games ahead of him to potentially be that long term option.

If the forum is being honest with itself (this isn't directed at you fish but based on the way so many continue to accuse Jetta of attitude problems he hasn't had for at least three years) this prejudice is really "he is another classy but lazy Abbo with no defensive side to his game."

I don't share the view that he was even close to being a poor small forward. From 2010 to 2012 his numbers were very good and only beaten by the game's elite small forwards. When he is confident his skill, vision and creativity help him bring others into the game even if it means his first instinct isn't to kick a goal.

I wouldn't read too much into him going to Boulder because it is an age based thing but it means that the club is at least keeping an open mind which is important (and which I'd expect).

His problem now is that as a midfielder he is not going to get the prolonged game time he requires to settle in the position. It is probably going to get worse with the number of hard running mids we've picked up recently.

Just saw him down the street, he told me he is definitely not playing for Essendon next year guys sorry.

Leroy to have a big year, heard it here first.
Final chance, has kids, will do it for them.
Hopefully someone realizes he's not a forward.

Clearly BM is in Boulder and saw Leroy walking down the street. Get with the programme, everyone...

Yeah, me neither.

On that note, I'm closing this and opening up a new player thread for Jetta. We're well and truly past the 1,000 post threshold.
