Fair enuffBarker was the so-called midfield coach . When they got rid of Bolton - they also shifted Dow/SPS/Fisher/Kennedy OUT of midfield and put Murphy/Ed back in - all those players were then 'repurposed' into different roles or dropped in VFL . Basically - Barker and Co - decided that these blokes were all fails and treated them accordingly AFIC these players were all part of the Bolton and SOS are fails story sold to the Board.
Now the same players with a few pre-seasons under their belts are able to match physicality with more developed players for longer - and when they are actually played in their correct positions - they can perform to their best. A better coaching group will also be able to get them to develop faster and better from here.
No coincidence that Kennedy is playing senior football in the centre and the arrival of Luke Power as our midfield coach

Is this true? The same as Dow? I can’t believe a change of mid coach is what it took for us to play these mids in the midfield.
Surely Teague pulls the magnets around and plays the team he wants to play.
Issue with being a head coach is you have to trust what your midfield coach says about the midfield magnets, otherwise you lose the synergy and trust in the coaching department eventually amongst other potential issues. You've seen it in the various snippets and documentaries like Hardwick asking his assistant coaches at half time 'whats being changed'. So much more responsibility in selections and structure is on the assistants than is given credit for in the media, even though the buck stops with the head coach it's easy for them to be misled a bit, I think. Is this true? He has improved his running and fitness significantly. He was slower than Casboult last season.Yes, should play week in week out. Do not understand why he has been made to rot in the reserves.
Contracted till 2022 but hasnt had the best run this season , not sure if he is injured.Yeah let see how he runs out the season. I would give him a 2 year deal or something. I just want to know whats the go with Setterfield.
Has been out with a broken hand. Before that almost felt like being stranded out on a wing broke him, he just wasn't the same after.Contracted till 2022 but hasnt had the best run this season , not sure if he is injured.
Swear filter's not working, I see.Barker
And goal kicking we start the game point point Kennedy takes a kick goal and off we goHe's my favourite player. Tackles, marks overhead and just keeps finding the pill. A lot of slower players can tackle and find the footy but what sets him apart is his overhead marking, it's a serious weapon. Deserves another 2 years, he's been brilliant.
I thought Crippa’s work out of CHF in the last 30 minutes was really important too. That doesn’t happen without Kennedy shouldering the load.
My knock on Kennedy was that I didn’t see he, Cripps and Setters working in the same side, and I thought Setters was a better footballer. Proving the haters wrong atm. If he continues this form he should be given a two year deal, show some confidence in him.

...perhaps more realistic to say that they are out of form and may be low in confidence - although Williamson seems o have benefited from having o play KPD in VFL and take on big responsibility and accountability down here.Agreed mate, I thought Setterfield and Williamson were rock solid and would be fantastic players for years to come, good god how they've regressed.
I think he is.
Something very wrong with either his desire to play or his fitness, he's a shadow of the player we saw last year.
Started to imporve in the VFL but even then hasn't stood out as an AFL starting mid doing time.
It really has been hard to watch the lack of progression of players like Kennedy, Setterfield, Williamson, LOB, SPS & Dow as well as the unavailability of high draft picks like Kemp, Philp, Charlie and to some degree Cuningham and Fisher.Agreed mate, I thought Setterfield and Williamson were rock solid and would be fantastic players for years to come, good god how they've regressed.
