Matthew Kenneey is probably going to be fighting it out with Jack Silvagni for coaches favourite. Application and effort will be the key positives. Like the bloke

Good result for the club. I think this guy can still really make it at the top level. Needs to smash 2022 and get rewarded with a longer deal. Minimal risk for club - if he regresses or loses the plot, let him walk, no harm.

Lots to like about the bloke so I really hope he owns the role, smashes in and make it his own. Voss would no doubt admire the toughness.

Great news. Matt Kennedy was very, very good for us this season. If he takes the same strides forward under Voss he will be an important part of our midfield mix.

It's all up to Voss to change our goals and standards. An ultra fit Dow, Kennedy, Stocker and to a lesser extent Setterfield will bolster our on-ball brigade dramatically. With Williams fitter and more determined, Marchbank (hopefully back) and kemp better prepared for a year in the backline, it allows us to move Stocker on ball.

Cripps (proven)
Walsh (proven)
Cerra (proven)
Hewitt (proven)
Stocker (in my humble opinion is best value on ball - we have coverage down back)
Kennedy (showed he can be a B+ grade onballer this year)
Dow (has to improve his two-way running dramatically)
Ed (hopefully only needed to pinch-hit)
Setterfield (last chance)
LOB (last chance - wing only)

Starting to look like a competitive midfield.

That is not including the possible improvement from Philp, Carroll, Gibbons, Fogarty, Ramsay (if they all survive the trade period)

Kennedy shares a house with Dow and Walsh....

Must be tough the weeks Paddy or Matty miss out!

Not really, Walsh gets enough of the ball for all three of them!

Very happy Matt earned another contract. He certainly looked every bit a best 22 footballer when he got his chance this year.

Next year is going to be harder again to lock down a midfield spot with Cerra and Hewitt coming in. Hopefully Cripps can get some form back too.

Worst case Matt is the perfect depth player. Can come in and play a midfield role too a good level. Not on too much coin. Solid protection in the 2s for young guys coming through.

If he keeps working hard I think Kennedy can still carve out a tidy career.

And who knows where Kemp may end up.

Hell of an effort from Bam Bam, to get demoted to the rookie list and earn his senior list spot back in one season.

Seriously proud of him.
