Even after the year we have had, still managed a respectable top 4 finish. Everything from here is a bonus.

In seriousness its a great credit to the Roo's and well done to all that helped acheive that goal.

That is a phenomenal achievement. It really is. North Melbourne were the team of
the 1990s and it could be argued that this year is still part of that decade. The feeling you get about the Kangaroos is that they’ve had an ordinary, inconsistent year. And yet where are they? In yet another preliminary final. If only Adelaide’s bad seasons were like that.

If North Melbourne were one of the large, recognised Victorian teams I feel they would have received many more plaudits than what they’ve got. They deserve more recognition but unfortunately they are universally unpopular.

Perhaps North could have reached and won more Grand Finals, but in an era of parity it’s still remarkable to be among the last four for seven consecutive seasons.

It's a shame nobody likes them. I’ve always thought they deserved a large and passionate following, even though I am indifferent towards them like everyone else.

I agree with Dan24 in that Denis Pagan is the best coach in the AFL. He’d get due attention if he had more media savvy, too.
