We are celebrating the anniversaries of these three years of glory in our magnificent club's history, I though I'd have a crack at picking a best 22 from those three Premiership teams:

Collins Langford Ayres

Birchall Knights Hodge

Eade Crawford Dipper

Rioli Brereton Buddy

Dew Dunstall Morrissey

Scott Tuck (c) Matthews

Int: Mitchell Platten Mew Rough

Coach: Clarko

What's yours?

That’s a pretty good effort, most of the greatest players in football history.

Maybe Buckenara in, Morrissey out?

Yeah, probably Bucks for Morrissey.

And I would start Platten on the ground. On the center line or forward pocket.

Dew had a great 8 minutes, but does he really deserve to be in the team ahead of guys like Buckenara?

FF: Platten - Dunstall - Rioli
HF: Brereton - Franklin - Buckenara
Ce: Dipper - Mitchell - Crawford
HB: Birchall - Mew - Hodge
FB: Collins - Langford - Ayres

Ru: Scott
RR: Tuck
Ro: Matthews

I/C: Knights, Moore, Wallace and Eade

Emerg: Pritchard, Lewis, Sewell, Bateman, Greene...

I suppose I based that selection on the fact that without him we are 'only' celebrating '78 and '88 this year....

Naah birch goes out for Knights because he must and Pritchard is best 22 otherwise Dunstall quits
Even that's a tough call, do we really need two key position backs? We need a tall, mobile CHB and someone there to provide run off half back. It's very much line ball I suppose.

Collins, Moore, Ayres

Greene, Mew ,Knights

Ablett , Crawford, Dipper

Buckenara , Brereton, Buddy

Rioli , Dunstall , Matthews

Scott (c) ,Tuck , Platten

Int: Mitchell Roughead, Eade Langford

Coach: Clarko

Knights is versatile and can play both ends of the ground and is probably one of the most athletically gifted players I have seen

Edit: He is also my all time favourite player. He MUST be in the side ;)

Yep, great team, probably better than mine. I agonised over Langford and Moore. I went with what is arguably the greatest single line in VFL/AFL history.

You're probably not old enough to remember Moore in his prime. In the seventies, Him and Geoff Southby were the best FBs by a mile, Dench not far behind.
