I notice from chanel 7, prime's , telecast they picked a all Australian side and picked 5 tigers within it . They were Newman and Rance ( back pockets ) Eevan ruck , Cotchin ( wing) and jack ( full foward ) .

Newman decision is ridiculous!!! Lids before Cotchin at the moment...sorry!!! Jack meh maybe just because of his goals.

Maric, Lids are locks, maybe Cotchin and Rance.

Newman lol

With our easy run home some players should dominate even more though.

Jack shouldn't be included. Yeah he's second in the coleman but two weeks ago people were calling for him to be dropped to Coburg for a reality check. Maybe extreme but the roast was warranted. Jack at his best is AA, but he hasn't been anywhere near his best so isn't deserving. There's a tonne of midfielders who deserve to be ahead of Grigg (I don't care about his stats).

Newman's inclusion by channel 7 is no doubt due to Tom Harley's respect and admiration for him as a leader.

The reasoned it not based on output, but on a variety of aspects.

The backline was based on output, team ethic and determination, Rance ticks all the boxes.

The forwards were based on goals, goal assists, pressure acts and tackles inside F50. Jack is currently second in 2 of these (Goals and tackles, so based on their criteria, he was a lock.)

The real AA will be much different.

So forward line is based on stats and backline is based on some subjective qualities. Seems legit.

Yeah, seems legit. Maxwell picked the forwards and said that he didn't have Stevie J because he was more of a midfielder, but then named Ablett as a HFF. Made no sense. Although I love him, I stopped listening when I heard Newman was named. Pretty poor season compared to his others. Seems strange during his down year he gets the plaudits he has deserved in seasons past. Omitting Deledio was the biggest surprise.

It is arguable who should or should not be on the list but the good thing is it is more evidence of the reviving Tiger getting respect and attention.

All publicity is good publicity.

probably being a bit generous, not sure Newy would make final cut, Lids would nudge him out:p
When the AA selectors realise that Lids plays as a HF pushing up into the midfield he should replace Rioli who is in on hype rather than substance.

FWIW My AA side at the moment:

B: Rutten Glass Newman
HB: Waters Rance Rielly
C: Stanton Watson Dangerfield
HF: Deledio Franklin Sidebottom
F: Crameri Riewoldt Lewis Jetta
R: Maric Pendlebury Ablett
INT: J.Selwood Boyd Swan Thompson
