What do we think of the "footy shows every day of the week" on 7. If their current crop of presenters is anything to go by, im thinking the shows will be mediocre.
Oh yay. Being told how awesome Victoria is every 5 seconds for an hour a day.
Can’t wait.

Needs a massive panel show of every BigFooty poster online at the time.
You should monetise a Bigfooty podcast on YouTube.

Have it be under the Bigfooty banner and allow club boards to do their own.

Get a couple of the better posters and speakers. Have various Bigfooty posters as guests.

Set up a studio in each of the capital cities or do them across Zoom.

Pay them a slice of the ad revenue.

They will more than likely be infinitely better than the shit on Channel 7 and 9.

Seriously. Do it.

With Fox & Kayo finally doing commentary at all games, will be interesting to see how the 7 game day commentary goes. FTA normally use them as a way to flow onto their in week shows (mentioning them, reminding people). The die hard footy fans generally have Kayo & unless they choose to watch 7 for their commentary teams (I find this unlikely) they are largely going to be selling these shows to the casual viewer, who probably aren’t going to be the major viewer of these shows.

I assume they will try & be rather controversial with comments, in order to get free publicity (X, Forums like this one, News.com.au & SEN) in order to create interest in the shows. Maybe the social media clips, which are becoming big business, will justify it if there views are high enough, even if the show ratings are poor. If they are smart, they should release each show as a podcast the next morning, costs very little & that market while congested is growing. Tagging advertising into the podcast is a great additional revenue scheme. SEN podcast numbers have grown significantly for example & are becoming a bigger part of the business

If they are vanilla & can’t create that publicity, despite them being relatively cheap to produce (they are already paying the talent), I think they will slip away into irrelevance by the midway point & may disappear until finals rolls back around

You have basically described the Footy Classified model. Probably the number one reason Channel 7 has recruited Cornes is to be the “controversiall news breaker

I mean, Footy Classified is not great, but you'd have to say it's been consistently better than the talk show offerings on Channel 7 and Fox (at least the ones I bothered to watch).

BigFooty 100 where one hundred random posters give their opinion to a host and a panel.*

* May or may not be similar to existing shows.

zero trust in 7 circa 2025 making a watchable footy show. it's been many years since they have.
“World Of Sport” circa 1985 is probably the most recent occasion.

I’d rather watch the inanimate bottle of Patra Orange Juice and the Bertocci Ham exchanging their own “expert views” than watch most of Channel 7’s output over recent decades.

I reckon the Aussie consumer eats this shit up more than the general sports fan Yank. Most Americans are at work when Undisputed or First Take are on, nobody sees it apart from the occasional social media clip and I think most people accept them for what they are, a bit of light entertainment but a complete exaggeration and not to be taken very seriously.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Corn on the host broadcaster. The amount of seethe he generates is truly fantastic and most of the time it's because he's hit too close to the bone for one side of the argument to cope with. There is a massive gap in the broadcast market for calling out players/coaches making mistakes/being poor. Hopefully Corn won't be curtailed to pursue this live through special comments (ofc he definitely will be though).
