Mixed feelings. Has been my favourite player but can also be frustrating when playing (missing goals regularly )
Has been injured a lot while on good coin and now that he is OK jumps ship.
Never wish him bad but really think he should do what's best for north.
Want some compensation ie draft pick from club going too

I'm surprisingly ok about this.
Me too.

I was initially upset to hear this but I think that now we have made tough calls on Boomer, Petrie, NDS and Firrito, we should keep it going and let Wells go.

It frees up salary cap space for us and to be honest, I'd be surprised if he plays for another 2 full years.

We've done a great job of not losing players to over clubs over the last few years with the expansion clubs aside from Greenwood but realistically, players will go from time to time.

Cant blame him tbh, he's 32 got 2 years maybe 3 left - exactly what motivation does he have to slaughter himself preseason and bang his body around for a final 2 years when the entire football world know apart from a few delusion emotional people on this board that North needs to hit the draft hard for a few years. Hopefully we get a sub 30 pick compo - thats a win for him and us.

I wish him well, he's given us plenty and most of know its time for a few lean years.

As much as I'm ok with this, some of the disrespectful stuff that is being written about a champ of our club is out of order.

Meh. Good luck to anyone who gets him managing him through his year long pinky fingernail injury absences
Piss off Wells

Just people that think we can win the flag next year by trading pick 11 for 3 or 4 ready made elite mids. Wells has been loyal and great servant to our club, if our guys are going to use FA then this is EXACTLY the classy way to do so. Wells class to the end, thanks for everything Daniel - ill be watching with great interest and hope you dominate.

Sorry I was a bit harsh

Good luck to any suitors managing him through his '2 week' toe yeast/thrush setback

Very fragile body but in a side like Geelong would be a great match for him, not the main man and can slide past danger . Who can feed him the ball, makes me very sad that thought.

JB's public snotting of Wellsy was the straw that broke the camel's back. Imagine prospective trade targets hearing that sort of ****. Fair to say we're a long way off being a destination club.

These bullshit lowball offers have cost us a other player potentially
Lowball or fair when it comes to Wellsy. He is the only player we could be losing this year because he is trying to get the best out of what could be his last contract, the other four were tapped on the shoulder.
Maj hasn't gone anywhere yet and we already signed up our most important player for the future in Wood.
If Wells goes i wish him all the best and with everything that's happened it kinda makes sense. Our rebuild will be even more fast tracked now and plenty of new faces will get their opportunity next year. A few lean years ahead but it's an exciting time and i'm looking forward to it.

I think I'm so numb I don't even really care.

I was holding out some positivity despite our struggles after round 11.

But once we showed Boomer the door, then served up that crap in the EF, not much else that happens at North this year can depress me any further than it already has.

Damn 2016. Damn it to hell.

Daniel Wells, meanwhile, is set to leave the Kangaroos.

Sam 'Scoop' McClure said Collingwood and Geelong were the frontrunners.

"My understanding is that he's basically decided to leave North Melbourne and has a choice between Collingwood and Geelong," he explained.

Wellsy should choose Geelong. Hes only got one maybe 2 years at most in his tank. They are closer to a flag then Collingwood.
While it's sad it will be interesting how he plays in a team with elite midfield
