Harsh word in here about one of our much loved super star legends of the club. Sometimes relationships don't last forever. A sad fact of life. If Daniel leaves us I'll be so honoured and blessed to have had the many years of joy and exhilaration he's given us. It is possible that he may remain so I'm not sure that we should all be getting so worked up over something we know nothing about and have no control over.
In saying that I can understand why he might want to move on. Our club has just had its heart and soul ripped out by the football department. Most of his best mates have just been shafted, the loss of Dish and Boomer will have most likely cut him deeply and killed his joy in wanting to walk into Arden St. each day. The club has shown its colours in the way it has treated its legends, its over 30 year olds especially. I dare say it must feel like a lonely place for him right now, other than perhaps having Lindsay there. Wellsy's always appeared a shy type. Perhaps not the mentor type to bond and engage with the new crop coming through, so in a way with his great mate Boomer now gone the love might have suddenly been sucked out of him and the prospect of a potential premiership, greater security and more coin for his young family perhaps has become a prospect more enticing. As I said I bear him no will if he makes this decision and extend my warmest gratitude for everything he has given us. I will say though, it will hurt painfully to see him running around with another club.
In my opinion however the club has erred in sacking Boomer. Consequences will be deep and long lasting and perhaps we're about to witness our first casualty.
