I'm going to boo, sledge (no racist or offensive language) and yell at the top of my lungs when I get the chance.

What a nice bloke you are , I must introduce you to my granny sometime!
I'm guessing sarcasm here but it is my right as a spectator to cheer, boo and do whatever I like aslong as it isnt racial, sexual, crude or gender based and within the rules of the club and Eithad Stadium guidelines

COLLINGWOOD star Daniel Wells has had a far more productive pre-season than last and is in excellent physical shape heading into 2018, assistant coach Brenton Sanderson says.

The condition in which Wells, 32, has presented himself this pre-season is a far cry from last year when he came back, as coach Nathan Buckley put it, "out of shape".

A niggling calf complaint kept the classy midfielder to just 10 matches in 2017, with Wells starting the year on the sidelines and missing the first three rounds of the home-and-away season because of the injury.

"A guy we're all excited about, without getting over the top about it, is Daniel Wells who we saw in 10 games last year and he was just silky smooth in the games that he played," Sanderson told AFL.com.au.

The disappointment surrounding Wells' lack of continuity was slightly offset by the quality of football he produced when he was able to play.

The former Kangaroo averaged 18.5 disposals and a goal a game, with the Magpies winning seven and drawing one of the 10 matches Wells played in.

Wells was outstanding in that drawn game against the Crows in round 19, gathering 34 disposals and kicking three goals to underline his class.

The 253-gamer moved with confidence and zest when AFL.com.auattended training during the week. He also spent plenty of time mentoring young forward Kayle Kirby, with whom he has developed a strong bond.

Sanderson said Wells, who signed a lucrative three-year deal until the end of 2019, was ready to fire this season.

"He's definitely had more training under his belt at this point this year than what he did at this point last year," Sanderson said.

"If he can get up and running by round one and start the year like how he finished it in that purple patch through the middle part of last year he's going to be really exciting for us."

Always thought he would be a north man for life.

Later in his career I thought he’d end up like McLeod cutting teams apart across half back with ease.

Shame to see him in a Collingwood jersey.
Yep I loved watching Wellsy play for us. I wish him the best but I will be surprised if he plays much more than 10 games for them this year.

TBH I would like to see him come back home for a final year. I can see him playing about 10 games and the Pies getting frustrated and wanting out of the final year of their deal, we could take on the contract and whatever Collingwood is willing to give up in order to get us to do it and get a favourite son back in the fold.

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more. Wells was a personal favourite for a long bloody time so it's a suprise I am saying this. We looked after him for years whe he was injury riddled, paid him more than decent coin to miss more or equal amount of games than he played and as soon as the "big club" in Collingwood made him an offer a 31 or 32 year old couldn't refuse he sold out. We offered him a more than fair salary to stay albeit a year less than Collingwood. I wouldn't have blamed him if was on the outer or being phased out but he was easily best 22 when available and then proceeded to take little cheap shots/jabs at not only our "small footy club" but also our smaller supporter base. I took that personally and still do to be honest. He is like an older version Greenwood in many ways.

I reckon he could have left many times over the years and was always pretty loyal. Like McKernan he will always be a Shinboner in my book, and I'd be surprised if Wellsy didn't feel the same.

Not sure how Wells found himself in the same breath as McKernan as far as being a Shinboner.

McKernan gave money back to the club when he felt he hadn't earnt it and left for purely football/personality reasons before coming back at the first opportunity.
