So he thought he just had a cranky ankle and the doc found he needed more work. Hopefully this will lead to a better performance next year. More mobility and strength. Can't have been too bad if he didn't really feel it much.
yeah but now its different, ie. he just had it reconstructed and going on similar recos, he will have a interrupted pre season and that will show next year, so fasten your seat belts, its going to get ugly in here...:)

What'll you do if next season is good and JR wins the goal kicking again??

i will call for a 2 year extension to be handed to Hardwick. ;)

I've got to keep this and quote you in 12 months. Obviously depending on reality.

Although as this is BF, reality is a much overrated factor in assessing performance.

STAR forward Jack Riewoldt has rejected overtures from Essendon coach John Worsfold and pledged his loyalty to Richmond.

The Bombers believed Riewoldt, 27, was gettable, but after a series of meetings between Riewoldt and Tigers officials in the past week, including one with coach Damien Hardwick, Riewoldt has come to accept he was not put up for trade.

His name had been linked to several clubs this trade period, but on Monday Tigers list manager Dan Richardson denied Riewoldt was on the table.

“Not to our knowledge, no, so I’m not sure where that’s come from,” Richardson said.

“Jack’s got three more years to go on his contract and he’s a very important player for us.”

A meeting between Hardwick and Riewoldt in the past 36 hours is understood to have further confirmed to Riewoldt he was not only required, but wanted by the Tigers, ending a challenging period for the star forward.

With the Tigers ruthlessly assessing their list, Riewoldt was understood to be assessing his future.

He spoke to long-time friend Brendon Goddard at the weekend about various aspects of Goddard’s move from St Kilda to Essendon at the end of the 2012 season.

Bombers coach Worsfold contacted Riewoldt after the forward’s discussion with Goddard.

There was no discussion about money or potential trade options, but about where Riewoldt believed his future was heading.

Riewoldt told Worsfold he wanted to remain a Tiger.

The meeting with Hardwick saw the coach give the two-time Coleman medallist an unqualified commitment to keeping him at Punt Rd.

It’s understood Riewoldt had been disconcerted by the possible trade of good mate Brett Deledio to Geelong, but that won’t affect his decision to stay.

Riewoldt kicked 48 goals in 2016 — his smallest return since 2009 — as the Tigers failed to make the finals after three consecutive campaigns.

The fact that he talked about it sends shivers so if people still think we are a happy bunch at tiger land think again.

So Goddard is a s**t mate who turned Jack's trust in him into a trade opportunity for the club.

s**t. mate.

I think everyone already knew Goddard is a s**t bloke.

HOPEFULLY a good chunk of the conversation with Hardwick revolved around abandoning plans to turn Jack into a back pocket, or half back flanker, or wingman and his home will forever be deep forward.
And with Ty Vickery out of the way there's no reason why it shouldn't be.

What concerns me is that Hardwick is making a commitment about players lists, given he has had no input to the dusts we have recruited in the past, how can Hardwick give an unqualified commitment to keeping him at punt road, the smoke is starting to clear, all the recycled duds have Hardwicks fingerprints on them

Give it a rest dude we all know you hate Dimma but do you honestly think everything that happens at the club is because of Dimma FFS.

Also this is what happens when media go full throttle saying all and sundry should be traded, Jack got asked multiple times on 360 about it, he denied it but yet they kept persisting with it that maybe in the end Jack thought there was something in it, maybe Jack should've gone to the club first instead of seeking out Floggard.

Sounds like something to fill blank space in a newspaper with and maybe sell a few more papers.

Yep, nothing at all on the other side of centre. No way. Not acceptable.
But let him range freely if he wants to.
He's developing a tank like Nick's.
Let him use it and drag oppo defenders out of position and turn 'em inside out.
Fully expecting a changed, much freer game plan in 2017 which will allow him to do it.

Just reading the article, considering you lot kept in telling us he had no hand in list management yet now he can give unconditional guarantees, the collateral damage if keeping him on will affect OUR club as opposed to her club for years, and I don't hate the man I hate the coach

The problem with this is JR spoke to Dimma about his future.

Its not Dimma's place who is worrying about his career. Dimma has a conflict of interest. If JR wants to talk to the club he should have spoke to Neil Balme!!

Coach, list manager, Dimma can do it all

Agree, not Dimma's place to interfere in list management decisions about the clubs future. The club is bigger than the coach, thats a governance problem right there!!!

Tail is wagging the dog with the coach!!
