In all the fapping over Richmond on On the Couch, they mentioned what a gun Miles is.
He's sixth in the AFL for clearances since rnd 12.
Leading the way, by a clear margin too, was none other than Andrew Swallow.
An absolutely amazing effort for a bloke who is coming off a very serious injury.
I thought for sure they would comment on it, but alas...
Feels like we've all forgotten what a gun Swallow is the past 12-months doesn't it?

Screw Jobe, our leader will be a beast come Saturday night.

I cant wait to see an intense NM outfit hit the ground running. I want them to crush them drug cheating campaigners and put forth a warning to all and sundry.

Im feeling good about us in the finals for some reason, something i struggled with all H+A season. I just think our good is very, very good and the intensity will be there from the get go. Its finals time baby!

Swallow to do the daily double 10 clearances/10 tackles

His last month has been real solid. I still stand by my call that he was rushed in and was underdone coming back from such a nasty injury, but he is looking the goods now.
A BIG captains game this week in a BIG final at the G is a non-negotiable IMO.

Swallows last few weeks have been nothing short of immense. Back to this pre injury form.
Out of all the frustrations and losses in 2014 all we want is for the boys to enjoy some success and share the spoils.
Get arrogant North. Go out and belt the *!!

Spitta's form is coming at the right time, in finals footy you want players like him playing well.

He was the only shining light in our loss to West Coast in our last final.

But weren't we suggesting to strip him of captaincy and trade him?

Stats were terrible at the beginning of the year.
Get. Rid. Of.

Edit: If I knew how to do a rolled eyes emoticon from my phone, I would add it so the correct tone is conveyed.

I think the knee jerking fraternity on BF has had every player on our list up for trade or delisting after a bad game.

He's back. I'm surprised his numbers since R12 are so high - I'd guess a power of those numbers would come from the last month or so when he has really hit his straps.

To be fair, I don't mind them focusing on Miles, given Swallow's awesomeness on this area is well-established. Miles has come from nowhere after being delisted by GWS, and he wasn't a high draft pick to start with, so it's a good effort by him. Thought he was one of their more impressive players when North beat them and he seems like a decent kid.

I never forgot how good he was.

But recently he has been, just like, wow...

I'm also one who likes our chances in finals. We've turned it on when we've been under pressure this year and finals is just four weeks of sheer pressure. Can't see anyone 'taking it easy'.

So hopefully, if we get beaten it'll be cause we just got beat by a better team.

2nd in clearances, 11th in tackles, 16th in contested possessions. Not bad for a bloke coming off a bad injury.
THe Guy is elite.

And you know what I saw on Saturday night??

Him yelling at blokes telling them what to do.

He is growing into the captaincy.

Amazing effort coming back from injury. And the timing of his coming into form is fantastic, his last 6 weeks have been insane!

Clearances last 6 weeks:
Swallow - 55
Priddis - 51
Miles - 43
Libba - 42
N. Jones - 41
Danger - 38
Rockliff - 36 (only played 5 games)
Duckwood - 31
Fyfe - 30 (only played 4 games)
Ziebell - 27
Cunnington - 23
Kennedy - 11 (only played 4 games)

To add some perspective to that - Jab Watson (who apparently is a class above all our midfielders) has never had a run of 6 weeks like that. Even when he got his juiced up *brownlow.

The calls for stripping Capt and his form at the time were unrelated for most.

They are two separate matters and I suspect certain posters would stand by their calls to strip Captaincy despite his recent impressive form after such a bad injury.

Anyway, on topic he has always been a clearance machine and it's great to see him back to near his best. Very important player in our finals run, if in fact we are to have one.
