BUMP.

You know you're underrated and people perhaps don't value your work as much as the flashy types when you come off a huge captain's game and you're player thread is on the 6th page.

I don't recall him being as ****ing absent as Cotchin.

9 - Team high tackles
7 - Team high clearances and centre clearances
5 - Vital frees at crucial times, resulting in Petrie's two goals, including a wonderful holding the ball.

77% game time. Used the ball well. Spread from the contest was great from an inside mid and he was the hardest player on the ground.

Saying that, I do feel however that we should continue to seek a trade, perhaps for a flashy youngster who would have stood up better under the finals heat than what Swallow did yesterday.

Trade bait.

People who suggested that bullshit should consider getting slapped by Goldy's multiple appendages.

Great game from Spitta vs Rich on Sunday. He was an absolute bull. That's as good as I've seen him play since he did his achilles. Another game like that vs Syd this Sat night & like Costanza when he was wearing a hair-piece, "we are in the game."

Two tackles stand out for me..
One on Cotchin and the one on Martin in the third absolute beast.

Yes he has copped it from many of us but that was a Captain's game.

Some of us (excluding me) give him a lot of crap because we know he can do what he did on Sunday consistently. I can't wait for him to go 1 on 1 with Josh Kennedy on Saturday night! Bull vs bull, beast vs beast, hardnut vs hardnut! Get excited!

I have been a bit down on him for a while. I don't think i've mentioned that here, at least not much, cos I don't think paying out coaches, leaders or anyone actually, is that helpful during the season. Its best to wait till the season is over unless the situation is so far beyond acceptable you can't sleep at night.

Happy to say I'm wrong.

If he keeps playing like this then great.

Also it seemed like the team did the right things. A few glaring errors sure (LT, Vickery goals to name a few) those things can turn a game against you but they didn't matter. On field leadership seemed great on the weekend. I've never doubted Swallows courage or hardness either, just his other leadership skills. recently higher ranked teams have got in front of us early and we've fought hard to get back into the game, then won. Happy to say I think I'm wrong about onfield leadertship.

Its excellent at the moment.

Well done spitta.

He needed to lift, and he did.

He's a big barometer for this side, and when he isn't on, it's very clear. If we are a chance at going deeper into September, he needs to continue his ferocity. Tackling and clearance. Repeat.
