This bloke is frustrating to watch.

You can see if he can put it all together he has all the tools to be one of the best players in the comp.

The problem is we are only seeing flashes of brilliance, followed by brain farts and then patches where he completely disappears.

It can’t be talent or his physical conditioning, it surely has to be his mental approach to the game?

I think we need to have a bit more patience with LDU. Some of the things he does, shows he has the ability and skills. But I reckon he is lacking confidence atm.

He is in a bottom team too. Needs more experienced support than just Cunners

And why do players always play like s**t after they sign a contract? Haha complacency?

LDU reminds me of Yeo in his first two seasons with the Lions. Yeo would take risks left right and centre, getting caught often but he didn't ever pull his head in.

I want him to continue to push the envelope.
Well said, If these guys stop attacking because they are scared of making a mistake they will never improve. The pile on at these under 23,'s is pretty bloody average.

He’s trying too hard I think to be the absolute man. Needs just to do some basics a bit more, but he’s a bees knob away from tearing it apart. Simplify Ldu.

He is the man. He is doing it all, just slightly off which is understandable after only 30 games.

And next year we will have two of these... stick that in ya mama’s basement next to your bed RazorRay you imbecile.

Thats fine however Dangerfield hit the goal when he was a young tacka, so did Judd. He has missed a heap of sitters. He is shiny but lacks polish. Im concerned that this will be forever part of his game, these are not easy fixers.

Well let’s just wait until he has the requisite tank mate. Love the passion, but jeesus he would have to be the least of our concerns, surely.

Kennedy, Dusty etc all took years to build their tank. LDU no different.

For all of the criticism in this thread, is there anyone that can think of a player past or present who has possessed these bull-like attributes with break away speed from the contest as well as being highly skilled and then didn't go on to make it as an AFL star? He may never develop the composure that Tom Powell was born with or the fearlessness of Glenn Archer, but what he already has in his kit bag is enough to be an AFL elite mid.

I have been following the game intently for 30 years and I can't think of a player that started off with these glimpses and then just went away. LDU is ahead of his expected timeline as a big bodied midfielder at 21 years old even though he has already missed significant time through injuries.

Go back and read the Dangerfield threads on the Crows board from 2010 when they were an average team and look at what was being said about him being a flat track bully as a junior who would never be the same type of player at AFL level. We are here now.

Also worth noting that after 3 years Danger had 42 games under his belt, and in his 4th year played 22. LDU has played 34.

Any stats on the game/s where he went from hard working Mid to self aware painfulness?
