Why did WCE choose Sheed over Cripps?

Not sure how good he'll be.
I worry about his pace and kicking, but I heard Michael Barlow interviewed on the weekend and he said Cripps is close to the best handballer in the comp already and his stoppage work is great.

Not a bad start after 12 games.

Interestingly, Cripps hasn't even played against Freo yet. So either it's something he has seen on TV or picked up from speaking to other players/media.

I know players keep up to date with what's going on in the game, but I'd say most opposition players wouldn't have known who Crippa was prior to this season/

And he's currently 11th in the league for average handballs, 9th for av contested pos, while getting around 5 clearances and 5 tackles, and still only playing 78% game time (most of the top players are mid to high 80s).

Cripps was rated a late first round early second rounder. He did make AA in this draft year but had a bad draft combine.

The Eagles trade down in the first round because they knew Dom Sheed would still be there @10.
Sheed did win the Medal for best player at champs that year. Was also WA captain.

You'd expect the dump to take up to 5 minutes, give or take a few minutes depending on what he ate the minute before. Unfortunately, Luke Darcy's presence extends well beyond that time frame. In conclusion; dump on air > Luke Darcy

Quite a few rumors at the time that our ex Geelong recruiter left because we recruited Cripps as well though.
