Cripps... my dad came in and watched the last quarter and despite being a Swannies supporter, reckoned that Carlton has an absolute GUN in Cripps.

And he agreed with me that in 2 years time, Cripps is going to be untaggable... which makes him virtually unstopable.

Settled into city life, Cripps now wants to build something special with prized youngsters Troy Menzel, Dylan Buckley, Nick Graham and Kristian Jaksch.

We're probably guilty of overrating our young players who show promise sometimes, which is understandable when we've been down in such bad times and needing shining lights, but not this guy.

He's only 20, playing second year of AFL and he's genuinely bossing it.

Now we're officially Judd-less, his emergence couldn't come at a better time.

While we talk about him as a 2nd year player, let's be honest, it's his 1st real full season. He only played 3 games last year and that was rounds 4, 5 and 23, so he never really got a good run on and had his VFL season interrupted too (only playing 10 games).
I'm struggling to think of a better start to a career in recent years. Will be interesting to see how his first 100 stack up to Judd, Fyfe, Selwood, even Bonts.
Even if he doesn't get the C next to his name for a few years, he's a natural leader and very vocal, so just having him out there is a bonus.

No it wasn't, Cripps is a gun and so is murphy but cripps plays with more heart and has natural leadership qualities, murphy doesn't. Thats why i also wrote IMO at the end of it. It wasnt a pot shot just purely my opinion....sorry you took it the wrong way. Im out. Not worth a carding over something like that.
