Teams on paper don't impress me much. Too easily ripped apart and written off.Another preseason or two training with Kreuzer and we will have an insane extraction duo on our hands (Think Nat/Priddis but stronger). Kreuzer, Cripps, Bell, Gibbs, Curnow has some real size and inside grunt - Murphy, Yarran, Boek, Thomas and MENZ for the outside run and polish!

By winning his own football, Cripps made it almost impossible for Raines (only eight disposals) to quell his impact on the game. However, Eade stuck with the match-up and the Suns run-with player’s frustrations boiled over, with Raines ultimately reported for striking Cripps in the last quarter.
Murphy’s measured and composed outside game once again underlined the Carlton captain’s class, and he would have enjoyed a free rein after battling through tags for most of his career.
The emergence of Cripps has given clubs a dilemma of who to run with in the Carlton midfield, and it will no doubt help the likes of Murphy, Yarran, Kade Simpson and Bryce Gibbs.
"At 190 cm and 90 kgs, Cripps is a contested ball beast. However his outside game, running capacity and disposal by foot is not close to the standard of his captain Murphy, limiting his ability to be a really damaging midfielder – for now."
190cm... please, that's soooo 2012
Yeah I was letting that part of the article slide a bit, because while they're not completely wrong, as you say Cripps can be extremely damaging by simply bringing/releasing skillful outside players into the game.horses for courses... his inside work makes him a damaging mid, they can keep bagging him all they like... ill bet outside players love playing with him...
Cripps had 16 before injury but my god he is class... A few great marks while out of position, and loved the grab out of the ruck and handball, his movement is great also!!Yeah I was letting that part of the article slide a bit, because while they're not completely wrong, as you say Cripps can be extremely damaging by simply bringing/releasing skillful outside players into the game.
I can't speak highly enough of this kid because everytime I see him play, I see another aspect to his game I hadn't noticed before. He tooks some defensive marks tonight also and for someone not known for kicking skills, also had some classy kicks to advantage.
I've no doubt he works his butt off week in, week out on all aspects of his skills.
It's amazing to think it was only last year when he got a couple AFL games and he seemed a bit uncoordinated and/or unsure how to use his big body.Cripps had 16 before injury but my god he is class... I really really hope boeky shows that kind of improvement, We can't afford to stuff this up!!It's amazing to think it was only last year when he got a couple AFL games and he seemed a bit uncoordinated and/or unsure how to use his big body.
Nek minnut, drops some kilos in the pre-season and comes back a machine with skill and class.
Give Boekkie a good run in the seniors to let him get a good understanding of the pace of the game and he will come good. He is a good young footballer with all the skills of Lucas and that level of hardness that Lucas seemed to lose after his long injury issues at the start of his career!I really really hope boeky shows that kind of improvement, We can't afford to stuff this up!!
Gah the one time I didn't watch that.He was good on the Sunday footy show this morning - love the kid
