Still couldn't pick that guy out in a lineup. Maybe I'm just another "ignorant" Victorian-biased footy fan who knows little about the interstaters, but judging by the Rising Star Winner thread from that year, I was certainly not the only one who had no idea who the dude was.

On Crippa, I love the fact that for an inside player who gets such ridiculous contested numbers, he can rack up so much ball. In the past we've probably had some inside players that were tough enough and could do some good things, but struggle to regularly crack 20+ disposals. He's in very good company with those names he keeps being compared to that's for sure.

Not that I always take notice of Matty Lloyd, but he reckons Patty will be better than Judd. They're not entirely the same kind of player, but as far as contested/clearance kings go, it's quite possible. This kid is regularly handpassing blindly over his head to the advantage of a teammate, it's almost arrogant, but he just about always pulls it off.

Good on ya Patty for joining Carlton. We needed a young gun like you to help us climb the ladder. Unfortunately that hasn't happened due to our massive injury list. But still I reckon you should win Rising Star award. Thanks Patty.

There just seems to be some sort of inevitability with your WA players, JtN. You can't see them forging careers and enjoying lives in cultural centres?

Someone on the West Coast board said Cripps was a Carlton fan anyway and was rapt we picked him up. Any truth to this?

Cripps can be a young key position player.....he just doesn't want to.

I'd sooner have Dangerfield than Matt Priddis, but Priddis did win the Brownlow last year based on his efforts for that year.
No height, speed, who'll be better next year etc involved.

Hogan will likely win and if I was a Melbourne fan, I'd be pushing for him too. No problem but just do it to the right criteria.......whatever that may be.
