As for Hogan v Cripps?
The Carlton kid was unstoppable, swiftly shaking a Bernie Vince tag. A clever soccer goal excited the faithful in the first quarter while his part in Matthew Kreuzer’s third major was breathtaking.

Cripps received a handball on the burst, spun around in the centre circle, sold some candy, waited and released to the ruckman who launched a goal from 50m on the run in the best Carlton passage for the season.

'Rising Star - absolutely': Barker backs Cripps after dominant day against Demons

"I would have thought so," Barker said. "Rising Star - absolutely."

"He was tagged today by one of the premium run-with players of the competition and put a nice, sizeable gap on him a few times and did a great job.

"He's an exceptional talent. They're the sort of players that we look at for our fans and members that we need to build around, and grow that talent from underneath and provide some quality to allow us to go forward and be a good team."

He wl be a big par of Carlton resurgence and I look forward to all the commentators eating shit and having to say good things about Carlton next year.

Give us half a good run with injury and the right mindset across the club and we'll be doing better than we currently are.....guaranteed.

Dont set the bar too high:oops:

Just saw that handball to number 8 again, didnt even look at Krooz at any stage, and hit the big fella on the tit without him breaking stride, simply brilliant.
Had a startling effect on HBF who tore off to the dunny as the ball sailed through. Odd.........

"Hogan struggled and was held goal-less for the first time in his 18th match but, in fairness, Wayne Carey would have struggled with Sunday’s midfield supply as Melbourne managed just seven goals against a team conceding 16 on average."

Dees had 13 more I50s than us and didn't think they were that bad, our defense was good and Hogan failed to clunk em.

Funny that in the 2 articles, this is only bit of info on Hogan! Media will be quiet on the RS until next week when Hogan gets a goal.

Edit: Hogans game not mentioned at all on 360

It hurts me today to come onto this board but I have to recognize cripps
Hadn't really seen him up close like that but he is already one of the best midfielders in the competition
He almost single handedly held us at bay in the last quarter by winning crucial clearances in our forward half
Josh Kennedy from the swans was the best clearance player in the afl, this kid might have already taken the mantle
Hogan losing the rising star to him would be no disgrace at all

He is already a more important player than Nathan Jones and Bernie Vince and the most exciting young clearance player I've ever seen including Selwood

Hogan got alot of poor supply today, and Gawn spoiled 2 of his marks in close. Was a bad day at the office for him statswise, but he still looked good and I was very aware of him the whole game. He is a beauty as well, and there would be no disgrace if he beat Cripps to it either. I think we are both on winners and should be very happy with our guys.

Hogan drops his head a little when he doesn't clunk them early, I think he is already extremely hard on himself and he was trying to desperately to win it for us but was probably trying to hard

Everything he dropped would have been a quality contested mark even against our own blokes so yeah he's the least of our problems after thy display

I have just found another player to go in tandem with matty next year. Please welcome patty cripps our new ruckman

His vision, contested works, ability to gather, free the arms...absolute top shelf. But only the very best...as in Diesel and maybe a hanful of others, can do all of that and still deliver perfectly timed, perfectly weighted hand-ball that put their team mate to advantage. Some of our guys look seriously surprised to receive the ball when and where they do.
