If Cripps was to have a blinder this week and for Hogan to have another quiet one, it will really test the integrity of the panel. We'll know by Sunday.
Its not going to happen, but he's one player at the club that deserves it.No way that will happen. He has already changed numbers once. Plus thousands of supporters have already got the number 5 jumper because of Judd. The club would miss out on a fair bit of money
Solid investment.Considering I jumped on him at $21 (only put a 20 down, I'm not crazy) I do really hope he wins it! [emoji14]
He does have a flavour of the month though. Not that long ago he was in love with Cotchin. If Tim Watson was on it, I'd say Cripps would be a shoe-in.
He's infatuated by Cripps, is Timmy.

I understand that it can be harder for Hogan to get the ball when his team is getting flogged versus a midfielder, but I feel some people (particularly people on the BF Main Board, not surprisingly) all too easily dismiss just what Cripps has been able to do.
Yes that's right, I meant to imply that but indeed, it does add to the point that Cripps has been getting great midfielder numbers even in a depleted (and bad) side with limited support or other star mids to take the heat off him.Um, we aren't travelling too well either, major difference is that Cripps gets his own ball but totally agree with what you are saying.
It will be egg on the judges faces if they select Hogan just because of the position he plays and Cripps ends up with more Brownlow votes.
There are some serious similarities between Cripps and Watson. He probably sees the son he wishes he had, or the son he had, when he was on the juice.
Cripps took 3 games to really come on. Watson took 3 years. There are some serious similarities between Cripps and Watson.
Watson only averaged more contested possessions and clearances in his doped up Brownlow year. Even then only just and only because of MM running 2 or more taggers through the middle.Cripps took 3 games to really come on. Watson took 3 years.
Don't over rate contested football, with more packs around now, there will always be more contested ball to be had.Watson only averaged more contested possessions and clearances in his doped up Brownlow year. Even then only just and only because of MM running 2 or more taggers through the middle.

Disagree - contested footy and clearances are still crucial and players that can win contested footy and deliver effectively are gold.Don't over rate contested football, with more packs around now, there will always be more contested ball to be had.
also contested football is over rated, it doesn't matter where you get it, it only matters what you do with it

i don't rate those players because of where they get the ball, i rate them because of what they do with it. There is no point winning contested football if you do nothing with it. A guy getting uncontested football can be just as effective with his disposal as a guy getting contested footballDisagree - contested footy and clearances are still crucial and players that can win contested footy and deliver effectively are gold.
To confirm, take a look at top cp winners in the game - Fyfe, Ablett, Dangerfield, Kennedy, Priddis - top 5 and R Gray, Selwood, Cripps, Beams, Mundy, Parker all in the next 10.
Repeat for clearances - Fyfe, again heads the list with Kennedy, Priddis, R Gray, Dangerfield, Mundy, Selwood, Cripps all in the top 11...
Have a look at the names - a whos who of the games best mids - elite Brownlow winners/favorites, future HOF, multiple AA, club captains - and that's just Cripps![]()
I rate players that can win their own ball and hit targets higher than those that receive the ball and hit targets.i don't rate those players because of where they get the ball, i rate them because of what they do with it. There has been and always will be contested football, but players rate higher if they hit team mates with the ball
it doesn't matter where you get it, it only matters how you use itI rate players that can win their own ball and hit targets higher than those that receive the ball and hit targets.
Sounds like it. Delist.
