If.........and probably when.......Cripps misses out on the R.S. tomorrow, it would be good if we just let it pass.

Let's not head down the standard 'we/he was robbed" path on this one.
We know his value to our team and it goes far beyond just his on-field value.
He'll be rewarded well beyond some tall 'experts' opinions and a shiny new medal in 2015.
Well said Harker.

1.50pm: As guests tuck into their main course of "braised short rib of beef with carrot puree, caramelised shallots, kipfler potatoes and gremolata dressing", let's revisit what the experts suggest will happen this afternoon.

"Basically, if Jesse Hogan doesn't win the Rising Star this year, no key position player will ever win it again.

“That's not taking anything away from Cripps. He's had a great year, but he probably runs around without too many players on him.

"This man has the best player on him week in week out." – Triple premiership player Alastair Lynch, Fox Footy, September 8.

:drunk:

Wasn't Cripps tagged half of the season...?

It's a tie two chairs setup where they have the press conference well done to Cripps and Hogan.

Yep a tie is the result which would be the fairest both are wonderful young players and stars.

2.11pm: Keynote speaker Judd admits his first objective as a new Eagles player was to gain selection and then keep it. It was Chris Mainwaring who got him thinking about wanting to be remembered as a premiership player.

He also said he enjoyed being able to then help the young Blues as his own career came to an end.

"I felt really lucky at Carlton over the last few years to have a lot of young guys who were really thirsty for knowledge, and you would have the discussions and then you could see some of their behaviours change," Judd said.

"It was incredibly rewarding and exciting to watch."

1.58pm: A TIE ON THE CARDS?

Word is filtering through there are TWO chairs set up in the press conference room, where the winner(s) will speak after being presented with the Ron Evans medal.

Is the configuration in anticipation of a player and coach scenario, or perhaps the first-ever tie between two players?

  1. 2.22pm: Last month, AFL.com.au spoke to Andrew Walker about the impact Cripps had this season, and he urged the other young Blues to follow his lead this off-season.
  2. Young Blues urged to follow leader Cripps - AFL.com.au
ANDREW Walker has urged Carlton's youngsters to follow the lead of Patrick Cripps this off-season, with the second-year midfielder's dedication last summer behind his eye-catching rise. Cripps has stepped into the void left by the mid-season retirement of Chris Judd with ease, with his strength and courage at the coal face among his many positive traits.

  3. 2.19pm: Hot favourite Patrick Cripps talking about the help Judd gave him over the last two seasons.

Judd responds with: "The best thing I did for 'Crippa' was to do my knee and give him more access to the centre square."

In all honesty, I'm happier with a tie with The Hulk and Crippa, than our boy winning outright . That would be the fairest, most just outcome
