I wonder if Cripps will make Knightmares top 50 in the past couple of drafts now.

Maybe hes done enough to be above the 6-8 Collingwood players... Witts... or Broomhead?

To be fair, Knightmare earlier this month stated that if he was redoing the 2013 draft that he would have Cripps at number 4. Some posters scoffed at him for this , but he goes on to back his view up - sounds like Knightmare is now a big fan !!!

Then goes on to rate him as our current best midfielder! That's actually not a huge call, I can't decide if that's a good thing or bad...

Juddy has said he wants to look at options out of footy.. I want Luke Ball as our midfield coach.
Ball as the midfield coach would be good with Judd as his development offsider :D

There's nothing to dislike about PC, a rare highlight of the 2015 season for us...

Cripps was always going to be a beauty. Definite highlight.
Docherty has shown enough to warrant almost as many plaudits.
Byrne looks likely to be a real player. Very happy with this guy.

Giles is out of the moon boot and may yet play a couple of games...............maybe.

Yeh doc is a ripper also, would have to be leading our B&F , hope he wins it, bleeds blue that family

Better than it being a 30 something that almost retired last year!

Joins an elite group of Carlton Number 9's:

- Kane Lucas
- Chris Johnson
- Jason Saddington
- David Clarke Jnr
Safe to say he will most likely end up as the best #9 in club history. Bit of competition from Hickmott and Kenny Hunter, but neither of them played more than 150 games (interestingly out of 39 players to don the #9, none have played more than 150 - Hunter the record holder on 147...).

ease up

Was going to mentioned that Thy.

Kenny won 4 All-Australians as an undersized HBF (no, not Milkcrate). Two with Carlton, two before.
Three-time premiership player
B&F in a premiership year
As courageous as they come.

At the moment, Cripps looks like becoming a super player. But the #9 mantle is safe in Kenny's hands (not THE Ken Hands) for now.

EDIT: I only saw the end of Hunter's career and otherwise have only seen highlights/read about him. Was waiting for you, Robbo's my hero or Stig O'Hara to pipe up over this.

Spot on Ferris! I'm loving Paddy's work, but #9 is and will always belong to Sir Kenneth Hunter.

Probably our 2nd best midfielder - no joke.

Absolute weapon and will be a gun for the next 10 years. The game has gone towards big bodied midfielders and we got one of the best ones - great pickup by the club.

Can't fault his game to be fair, people claim his kicking is iffy but it isn't particularly bad. He will be a danger as a match up down forward too as he is hard to beat in the air. An opposition coaches nightmare really.

I fear attracting additional negative comments concerning my age but I'm prepared to take a chance for you ferrisb.

Kenny is a contemporary of mine and a wonderful player.

He turned up with his other WA mate in 1981. It's fair to say that I feared for his safety when I saw him in the Carlton kit. Only Robbie Flower has built a career with a build like that so the chances were slim. His body had the flexibility and strength of rubber and his mindset was like steel. So the Indian rubber man with courage very few possess was an instant hit. His kicking was only passable but his talent to read the play and mark made him very special. When you add courage that few have matched Kenny is an all time great of Aussie Rules.

Special memories.

Mark of the year when he did a Jono Brown before it was fashionable.
1982 GF. Jimmy 'The Ghost' Jess took him out early (God bless Gary Wilson for fixing Jimmy up at the 'G). Kenny would have been out of the game today but not then. His contribution in the win was priceless.
Finally, he was one of the original 'swing men' of football. I think I remember him kicking a big haul (possibly 8) at Carlton one day but I am getting old.

I hope Pat aspires to the level that Kenny Hunter achieved as Premierships are built around these types of players.

If I had to absolutely nit-pick anything on his game I have noticed him jogging behind contests if they are say >10-15m away, but I imagine it's a fitness thing really, because he doesn't lack intensity when he's in the thick of it.

A couple more preseasons and bloody look out comp. He could fast become our best mid and already has the most dangerous hands IMO. I watch his handballs closely and they can be just unbelievable. Lightning fast but always to a teammates advantage.
