"Goddess"

Reckon the kid will go alright when he gets his man body and builds his tank. Could possibly be a gun.
Shining light

They say people don't believe in hero's anymore. But damn them! You and me, Cripps. We'll bring back their hero's.

I think it was 7 & that was the year he led our goalkicking (1983).I fear attracting additional negative comments concerning my age but I'm prepared to take a chance for you ferrisb.
Kenny is a contemporary of mine and a wonderful player.
He turned up with his other WA mate in 1981. It's fair to say that I feared for his safety when I saw him in the Carlton kit. Only Robbie Flower has built a career with a build like that so the chances were slim. His body had the flexibility and strength of rubber and his mindset was like steel. So the Indian rubber man with courage very few possess was an instant hit. His kicking was only passable but his talent to read the play and mark made him very special. When you add courage that few have matched Kenny is an all time great of Aussie Rules.
Special memories.
Mark of the year when he did a Jono Brown before it was fashionable.
1982 GF. Jimmy 'The Ghost' Jess took him out early (God bless Gary Wilson for fixing Jimmy up at the 'G). Kenny would have been out of the game today but not then. His contribution in the win was priceless.
Finally, he was one of the original 'swing men' of football. I think I remember him kicking a big haul (possibly 8) at Carlton one day but I am getting old.
I hope Pat aspires to the level that Kenny Hunter achieved as Premierships are built around these types of players.

Well where is his twin?Cripps was raised by wolves.
Cripps was raised by a jackal.
I stand corrected. He indeed kicked 8.1 in that match (Beasley kicked 7 for the Scraggers in a high scoring game). He got 8 v Footscray in 1984 on the long weekend Monday game.
Was the week Bosustow was meant to re-appear from the West.
Just as well we don't drug test BF posters.Cripps IS the jackal
Just as well we don't drug test BF posters.![]()

You were correct also. He kicked 7 against the Kangas at Carlton round 21 1983. 27 points down at quarter time. We finally won by 33 points.I stand corrected. He indeed kicked 8.1 in that match (Beasley kicked 7 for the Scraggers in a high scoring game).

That was the one I remembered. I had totally forgotten about his 8 in '84, yet I was easily able to find the footy record from that game when I went looking for it before. You were correct also. What am I easing up about? Ken Hunter is currently the best player to pull on the #9. Hickmott, while not a star player, is also one of the better ones to wear that number. Cripps will probably be a better player than both. He may not end up being a triple premiership player (we can hope he does), like Kenny, but he'll be a better player.ease up
I think you're all taking my comment the wrong way. This was by no means a slight on Hunter. I don't know if Cripps will be as decorated as Kenny (he achieved a lot for slightly less than 150 games), but he is certainly shaping up to be a better player. I don't expect everyone to agree on that, but give it 6 years and it will be a serious debate. Was going to mentioned that Thy.
Kenny won 4 All-Australians as an undersized HBF (no, not Milkcrate). Two with Carlton, two before.
Three-time premiership player
B&F in a premiership year
As courageous as they come.
At the moment, Cripps looks like becoming a super player. But the #9 mantle is safe in Kenny's hands (not THE Ken Hands) for now.
EDIT: I only saw the end of Hunter's career and otherwise have only seen highlights/read about him. Was waiting for you, Robbo's my hero or Stig O'Hara to pipe up over this.
You've decided Cripps will probably be a better player than Ken Hunter. Ok then. What am I easing up about? Ken Hunter is currently the best player to pull on the #9. Provided we can keep him and he stays on the park, you'd have to say that he's going to easily be a 200+ gamer for us, and that at the very least will give him the games record for that number, and if he improves a bit over the next few years and maintains that level, he will easily be the best player.
So talk to me in 6 years.I think you're all taking my comment the wrong way. This was by no means a slight on Hunter. Geez, relax a little. This is obviously all speculation, as Cripps is only 10 games young, but is it really that much of a stretch to think he will be better? You've decided Cripps will probably be a better player than Ken Hunter. Ok then.![]()
Yeah alrightSo talk to me in 6 years.

You're talking to someone who saw the bloke play his entire career. How about you?Geez, relax a little. This is obviously all speculation, as Cripps is only 10 games young, but is it really that much of a stretch to think he will be better?
What's your point? You've got a hard on for Kenny, congratulations. I have said nothing to dismiss him as an all-time great and club legend. He deserves all the accolades he gets. He's currently the games record holder for that jumper and the best player to pull it on.You're talking to someone who saw the bloke play his entire career. How about you?
