When you see Cripps move off bigger and more senior opponents the way he can with only a half developed body, you have to wonder what he'll be doing at the age of 23 onwards.

He's only one player though and we need more to come along for the ride and as low as we've hit this year the list is a much tougher one than we had 2 years ago. We'll see where that takes us.
I agree Harker ... There is plenty of work to do .... with a bit of luck though we really are not in as bad as a position as we thought a month ago.

Out depth is low, but if you look at Rowe and Levi they have massively improved after MM departure (for different reasons), Jamo still has a few years left in him and Hendo seems to be fit and firing, Watson may also prove to turn into something after his 6 goals in the VFL ... so our KPP depth is not as shocking as I and others thought.

We still have a very potent midfield that will only get better as well.

There are holes but hopefully the next couple of drafts can be relatively successful ... if that happens I think we will be pushing towards finals in the next couple of years.

One thing is for sure .... enough screwing around chasing success quickly!

No more bs type selections on project players.

Look for skills!

And above all .... don't get r*ped at the trading table .... STOP DEALING WITH ADELAIDE!

And sign up Cripps to a ten year 10m contract!

Seriously though was their ever a better looking baby faced assassin? Kid is the David Beckam of AFL ... and yes I am straight!

Hoping he puts on 5kg over the preseason across the shoulders, he will then be able to shrug the tackle and his handball will go to a new level...

He will attract a bigger body mid in the next few weeks which will be interesting to watch...

His running is getting better week on week and he is definitely quicker by some distance on last year, running coaches are a must for juniors...!

Mentoring by Bryce is going well....

Hopefully he goes forward in the next few weeks and shows us what he's got up his sleeve, which some have seen!!

If only we had a couple of Ferrari's to go with the Rolls Royce...!

How are your feelings to Nicky Graham this week? :p

I think he's become my fave player.

Cripps Buckley Bell Menzel Doc Graham, they are the super six! It just feels so right. Imo our youngsters are our most exciting players. The future is looking bright.

I think Cripps is big enough already. I would prefer to see him try to keep the weight down and work on speed and endurance. Was great to see him get the ball in space and take a few bounces and then set up attacks. Hartlett who is normally considered big bodied tried getting into him with little effect.

Murphy must be loving Patty doing the heavy lifting. He and Graham are smart enough to be able to get on the end of Patty's work to deliver decisive clearances rather than the hack kick out of the middle which usually favours the defensive plus one..

What's missing in that grouping?

No KPP's is a worry and at this stage we only have the injured Giles and the slender body of Jaksch to fall back on.

That must change but losing Henderson isn't a particularly great starting point for mine.

Totally agree, especially if we're only losing Henderson to gain Carlisle. It doesn't make any sense to me.

Yeah.. what is wrong with Gibbs?

Did a couple of his usual class acts on the weekend.. but isn't anywhere near the form he displayed 2014.
Without wanting to turn this into something about Gibbs, I've noticed that he's gradually turning into Robbo this year (without the mongrel). Just blindly banging it onto his boot and efficiency is down as a result. If the team can stay up and about and competitive for the rest of the year, I think he will come good (hope).

I guess we'll only know when all the cards are turned over but at this point in time, I'm taking little joy in the notion of losing Henderson.
He must be really disliked around the club o_O

Would be good to ease Cripps' body somewhat through stages this year and let him play forward for periods of time.
I don't particularly care for any Rising Star winner but would be happy for Cripps to round his game off by becoming a goal-kicker also.....which he can do.

If Gibbs ends up getting a rest for THAT tackle (personally don't think he should, but...), I'd like to see Whiley given another chance. Get him in against a lower team and don't make him a tagger. Put him in the guts alongside Cripps.

Agree and while I don't want to sound like I'm continually having a go at Mick, I reckon he did Whiley no favors in the way he played him. Not surprisingly he was used as a tagger and he really just seemed confused between whether to go for ball or stick by his man.

Free him up I say, let him get a feel of things and see what he can do. He needs to adjust to the pace of AFL footy.

Yeah pace could be an issue. He looked a bit slow at times in the AFL, but did have the achilles interrupted preseason.
I just really want to see what Cripps, Bell, Graham and Whiley look like in the middle together. You would still have Murphy, Carrazzo and Curnow for experience.

We are picking at straws with his speed. Dont think it has ever diminished his performance. Cant expect a guy his size and stature to move like lightening. I have a man crush on this kid...

Good pic this one.

has cripps grown taller from last year? seems huge standing next to some of the other midfielders out on the field.

He's always taller on game day! :D

I know we've thrown about what his height may be for some time now with the number starting at 190.....went to 192.....hit 193 a few weeks back and was finally announced as 194 through the weekends game.

I have him at 194.5 having stood next to him and comparing to others that have been listed at 195.
He's really no shorter than Giles and Watson and is a little taller than Everitt.

EDIT: Just watch the speculation over his height in the next few weeks culminating in him being announced as the 194 cm Cripps. May even be the 195cm Cripps if he's found to be 194.6cm :)
