Yeah, "can't kick" my butt. Crippa aint and probably won't ever be a technically sweet kick, but like Juddy before him, he has the vision and class to kick lovely weighted balls to the advantage of players when he gets the space.

Just had a look at it and you're right.

Didn't see him turn around the first time round. Looked as though Cripps was talking to the back of his head for the whole time.

Still, isn't it great to see Cripps still willing and confiding his captain.

I guess Murph was probably just concentrating on the next bounce. Murph ought to be pretty friendly with Cripps considering the amount of handballs he receives from him

Losing this guy would be soul crushing and given our bottoming-out, we need to ensure he is signed up. In a year where we've been battered from pillar to post, he's been a beacon of hope and a real young leader.

He has the sort of presence that makes others stand up and he'll start dragging other players with him.

It also gives younger players a benchmark for performance. Want to elevate yourself? Look at what Pat has done. He's one of the few to actually persist and he's got the sort of resilience and determination that is just so un-Carlton-like. His enthusiasm and leadership is pivotal to our resurgence.

We're now in the days where 1 million contracts have become a normal part of the AFL landscape so lets lock away this guy for as long as we possibly can.

You also get the impression this guy isn't going to be satisfied with being a 'decent' footballer and the money won't make him complacent. He's not just here to get a pay-check - he's here to elevate himself further. He's not Gibbs or Yarran.

He's definitely worth it.

Feel lucky to have been unable to see last night's game but just saw the stats and Cripps had 25 possessions, 19 contested and 13 clearances in a game where we were smashed.

To think that he has played just 20 games and is top 10 in the league for both contested possessions and clearances is ridiculous.

10 year contract doesn't seem so outrageous

Might just have crept back the advantage in the Rising Star award.
