Cripps was robbed due to circumstance of the position hogan played.

If you look soley out the output of the year you can't go past cripps.

Victim of circumstance and I don't feel what he did was appreciated enough.

Cripps year was statistically better than any other past winner.

Carlton doesn't do awards. We don't win the Brownlow as often as most teams. When we don't, it's because we didn't win enough or because we had too many good players, whereas the same principle doesn't apply to other teams.

Just chalk this up to the Woewoedin Brownlow at Kouta's expense.

It's only an award but when the winner receives $20000 NAB Portfolio it's nothing to laugh at.....

I was robbed of a win and $16000 prize on a tv show by the producers who wanted the young female to win it... nothing I could do as on the contracts it did say the producers can over-ride the judges decision. Eats at me still to this day that I know I was the winner but never reaped the reward of my hard work.
Would love to know the story behind this!

No 'Ron ******* Evans' medal heading to Princes Park! :D

That's one saving grace. Probably quite content to never have a rising star winner while that name is on it.

No shame coming runner up to a KPP... Think of it like 2002 when C.Judd came runner up to Nick Riewoldt.

Take confidence that Kevin Sheehan, the AFL National Talent Manager, gave Cripps the 5 votes. Not the 6 KPP ex players and Kevin Bartlett lol.

There is no loser in an award. Be thankful we have this kid and he will lead us to great things.

Well done Crippa!

Typical anti-Carlton AFL decision, like Walker missing out on GOTY when it was clearly evident there was none better

MOTY but quite right. We look for something to hang our hats on but the AFL are intent on not letting that happen.

Kouta Brownlow to make up for getting booted from the finals ... no ... Woewoedin
Walker MOTY ... the vision they use to promote the game regularly ... no ... Krakouer (Darcy and Bartlett on that panel too weren't they)
Cripps favourite with bookies for the Rising Star after being more consistent than Hogan ... never in it.

There is a reason Carlton supporters become insular and close ranks around silly mantras like '**** the rest'. It's to overcome continual disappointment.

Not all RS runners ups is spudz!

Hogan a worthy winner. 44 goals for a 20yo CHF is amazing. His marking was sensational as well. He was the main target at Melb, but I wouldn't want to be a forward there, main target or not. Yes, he's been in the system a while, but playing in the VFL and unable to train with a back injury isn't the same as AFL experience.

Ignore the RS medal, we all know how good Cripps has been this year and he has been by far the biggest shining light in an otherwise annus horribilis (that's two n's, thylacine60 ).

He is literally and figuratively the biggest building block in our future. We all love the kid. Can't wait to see how dangerous he becomes once he fills out and maybe adds a bit more forward prowess.

Earlier in the year, I was hoping one day Cripps could become a poor man's Watson/Kennedy. I'm now thinking that they could both be a poor man's Cripps. And one of them is a Brownlow Medalist*. The fact that's not just a ridiculously fanciful and biased comment from a Blues supporter really says something.

Can't wait to see more of the kid in the coming years. Without placing too much pressure on his shoulders (not sure I could reach to place any pressure at all), I look forward to Cripps driving the club back to success.

Oops I meant MOTY , what embarrassment.

Well done Patty. You've come a long way in such a short time. I think your consistency should have been the clincher in this award. I only saw Jesse Hogan play one game and he had a stinker. I reckon you might get three votes in that same game which shows that when the pressure of comparison was evident you reigned supreme.

Yep, C.Judd - 1 premiership, 1 Norm Smith, 2 Brownlows. Nick Reiwoldt - a set of embarrassing photos and one scorched midget.
