I actually miss a lot of his work he is usually so buried underneath other players. He's the starter motor invisible under the hood somewhere.
And amongst all of that he still finds away to get a handball off to not only a Carlton player, but a Carlton player to advantage

Only experienced the game through radio coverage unfortunately. How was the lad moving? A bit better than past weeks?

His stats are certainly very good and his impact as usual of a very high standard, but as we know, his "down" games are still pretty damn good. I'm convinced you could cut off his leg and he'd still find a way to get in and win clearances.

Can you tell us what was going through your mind as you were about to merge them? Was this new territory for you or were you always confident?

Yeah nah, Chief gives us freedom to take the forum on. Better to try something and make a mistake than to hang back and have the forum taken away from us.

I tried to take it one thread at a time and luckily it all just seemed to come together. I mean ... due credit to the posters in each thread, all quality posters and all dangerous opponents. Things fell my way this time fortunately.

A week is a long time on a footy forum. Like 7 days give or take.

This corresponding round last year in NZ is where he announced himself against saints. In 12 months he's become the leading contested/clearnce player in the league. BEAST.

He's a beast, orright...

Bit of a worry that our next best is Kedge with 17, need to focus on spreading the load a bit more, but I'm sure the powers that be are working on it.

When Crippa gets a clearance it seems something usually good happens. Again, like Judd, he brings the other players into the game. Kind of scary to think how our midfield would be if he hadn't suddenly turned into a beast.

I love the way Bolton described him after the Freo game. To paraphrase "I don't know how many possessions he had but a fair few contested. He's a bull!"

Love it. And as to the future, as an inside mid I don't forecast a Charlie, but a swag of Norm's would be nice...

Stranger things have happened. Priddis won a Brownlow and generally polls well.

True, but it's usually the flashier mids in vogue, Priddis being the exception to the norm. I'd much prefer Cripps to win the Norm (multiple times :D).

So saying that, he has attributes that, as to football, he could be anything (thinking a Pavlich like development) such as a key forward. His height, his ability on the ground and refusal to lose any contest... I love anticipating the future.

Didn't realise it was Cripps who broke Fyfe's leg again yesterday.
Can't say I'm surprised. Kid tackles like bear
If he tackled me there'd be nothing left but a Gaga meat-suit.

It's kind of like Ratten at his best, wouldn't notice him at the ground but you'd get the paper on Sunday morning and see he'd had it 34 times. It's all that in and under grunt work.

After 5 rounds, Cripps is the leading the AFLs clearances, contested possessions and also 7th in tackles. What an absolute beast.

Just wait until he's 100% fit.

.......thank....whoever......that Richmond had the pick before us and took Lennon.

Problem right now is that he's doing it alone in the middle.

Leads the league in clearances, but we're last as a team. Stating the obvious, but desperately need a couple of blue-chip prospects in there to go with him. A pressing need, even more than finding a genuine key forward.

Exactly. We can't do a Judd on Cripps. Must not happen and will not happen.

Load has to be shared and others have to step in and step up.

Last year clearances were our biggest strength. Why have we dropped off so much in this area?

I'd say kruez's form would be the main deference from last year.
The stats probably don't reflect that but Kruezer has always been the type of player which stats weren't a great indicator to the impact he can be having on the ground.
Just not seeing the huge amount of repeat effort's that where still a big part of his game as recently as Nab challenge.
Is it just form ? Or is he carrying something ? Maybe a mix of both?
