Only one positive was Geelong getting pantsed the next week. All those Cats supporters feeling like they had in '89, '92, and would get again in '95.

Hated them for a while there.

Was more than happy when they got decimated in 94 and 95.

A little bit before that, the Russian picked up a ground ball and kicked inside 50 to a free target - I think it was Arch but may have been Fruity. He missed his target and the ball drifted out on the full. That was our last scoring chance as I recall.

Funny though. Think if that game was against the all-conquering Brions you'd probably sit back and think, " wow, geez they were a great side weren't they " and what an amazing game of footy.

That Prelim is one of my favourite non Eagles games.

We were playing Melbourne in the 2nd Prelim straight after this game and I still remember it like yesterday.

All day had the vibes of a classic.

Carey was an absolute beast.

I remember Allison missing a dribbler late and can just picture Riccardi running along the wing with the crowd roaring for him to kick it.

It was another game where poor kicking for goal cost us. It hurts nearly as much as the 98 GF !
