Your best 22?

Is this how you did it?

very good:D:D

They couldn't do any worse... worth a try I reckon

Oh so bitter :) Cute but when you consider how hard Connolly and co. tried to keep him, it seems not everyone at Melbourne shares your view. :thumbsu:
Yeah, we tried our hardest to keep him by offering him a one year contract with goals he had to achieve for a second:rolleyes:

Why would i be bitter, this thread is " A bit about Chris Johnson.." and i'm telling you a bit about Chris Johnson. Not even in the wooden spooners best 22.

Well he shouldn't have too much trouble making your best 22 because i think we all know that after Judd, Fevola, Gibbs and Murphy the quality drops a fair bit.

That means the Fev is the fastest in the AFL..... he won it a couple years ago :rolleyes:
You mean when they did the AFL grand final sprint as a piss take and put fev on a 20m handicap?

Haha, i didn't even have him in my best 22 for next year. Go check the 2009 team on our board, where i did my post which was 3 weeks before he left.

He's a depth player, nothing more, nothing less.

And yes he is weak as piss, he strolls around the HBF getting cheap touches. Good disposal that turns to shit when the pressure is on.

Making your best 22 is like making the starting line-up for The Washington Generals. All rather pointless.

Err... i don't know if you're being sarcastic or not? But Martin looked very promising this year.

200cm tall, 100kg yet SECOND in the grand final sprint.

Represented Australia in Basketball at U21 level before focusing on football. Looked good in the games he played this year, using the ball well, taking big marks and keeping his man quiet. Very excited, will be a gun full back. And we got him after Gourdis and Pfeiffer in the PSD, i think we know where they are now.

Frawley will also be a gun, Pick 12 in the 2006 draft, just needs to bulk up. Might not be ready for next year yet, but we'll wait and see.

Watts already in your best team = not many scoring shots in 09

Miller at CHF = not much hope in 09

Haha.

Poor Melbourne supporters just can't help themselves, can they?

Here's a tip, champ: We don't care about the Grand Final Sprint. It is irrelevant. For clubs that are actually decent, other aims are made. But be content with a 2nd place finish for one of your players as the only success you're likely to have in a little while. :thumbsu:

Umm. Do you or do you not go for Carlton?

Believe it or not, i can actually remember my team in a finals series, something alien to most of your supporters.

You haven't even finished in the top 10 since 2001, and even then you managed to lose to Richmond in a finals series!

And as i said, the Grand finals sprint is to point out his speed. What other 200cm, 100kg full back can run 100 metres in 11 seconds? I await your answer.

You obviously don't hold a very good thought process then. All clubs need DEPTH players and he will be servicable for us or whoever else at least.

Well done!

You do know that some material gets old? Sorry, you're not the first one to tell us we haven't played footy in a while. We are well aware.

By the way, it's kind of laughable you are content with just playing finals. When was your last premiership, chump?

Couldn't give a **** how fast he is. Really.
But if the Grand Final Sprint makes you happy then hey, who am I to stop you from using it as an argument? :D

Haha, some people aren't satisfied with the AIS-monitored 20m sprint test, and you're hanging your hat on a 2nd placing in the Grand Final sprint?

;)

some of you guys dont want him ? ....his better than half the players on the carlton list ..be lucky to get him in PSD if he slips that far .

Johnson is a better footballer than Buckley.
Sorry i missed this the first time around.

Buckley, while 2 years younger then Johnson, is definately a better footballer then Johnson.

Buckley has something that we really need, which is speed and ability to break the lines. Not to mention he is also a good disposer of the ball.

I actually feel sorry for Melbourne in this instance, they put in a couple of years into his development, and just when it appears they need players of his ability and age to stand up and start to become a leader for their young club, he bails out on them.

I can understand why Melbourne fans are a bit pissed off right now ... Can't really blame them.

Agreed . Maybe the Dees should've offered him a solid 2year deal rather than an optional 2nd year. He may have taken it as a slap in the face.

Great point celtic, if the shoe was on the other foot we would feel the same.

take it easy on them.... they aren't that sure they'll be around for the second year so they don't want their hands tied:D

Hey Champ, I glad you can remember a finals appearance from your side as you have nothing else to remember them by.
Believe it or not, i've actually seen my team win 8 Premierships....Ummmm how many have you seen your team win? I bet 0....
You lose as usual, but as a Melbourne supporter you'd be used to that:D

The description was good up until this point.

He butchers the ball an awful lot...will need to improve that aspect of his game if he is to help Melbourne move up the ladder.

Buckley butchers the ball under pressure i do admit, but uncontested he is a good kick.

The last time we got a guy in the pre season draft by offering him a longer contract than his club, we got Cain Ackland.

Not sure why we want this guy. If he can't get a regular game for Melbourne after 5 years he ain't much good.

Don't care if he can kick, if he is soft - no thanks.

Maybe he will be the best of a bad lot in the PSD and Carlton see him as being a running hbf, but hard to see him offering much.

If he is tough, happy to give him a go, but if we just want a softy with skills, might as well draft Fiora
