Schnieds made the mistake of clapping the umps once, it's kind of funny thinking about it now, but I think he forever placed himself in the 'do not pay this guy a free kick' class.
Agree with you there, him and Milne would get there heads ripped off and it would always be play on.

That's why I don't buy into the race thing with Thomas.

Every side has had a little annoying, yapping small forward who isn't liked.

Milne, Ballantyne, Thomas

Well that ended up being something about nothing.

Brad would want to get heavily fined.

Interesting to see the outcome of this. Also what context the comment was made.

Frankly, when it comes to ducking, I have no problem with the umps doing this. Question is if a free is paid if it is legit.

But if the umps says that if he ducks he won't get a free then fair enough IMO.

I don't see this any being different to an ump telling a tagger that he will be penalised if he continues to scrag or a full back if he continues to tunnel a player.

We will wait and see.

I wonder if Selwood gets the same treatment. Just chasing the nominated target than the holy cows.

I had a look at the stats on this today. Pretty hard to find any dropoff in his free kick rate post that game in 2009 (round 21 I think it was).

Maybe I should clarify.

He tended to give umps chatter, a lot of small forwards do, doubt he won many in his journey.

That event would of just sealed the deal and had him laminated and stuck up in the umpires office as the poster boy :)

I remember they bought in a Sam Fisher ruling with vision of sam Fisher for all the umpires to watch the same year as bringing in the Ahmed Saad rule. Why the **** did the idiots need to name them after a particular player, it's bordering on farce how pathetic the direction for umpiring is at a professional level. Then having no ability for anyone to question their decision is crazy. people will eventually turn off. They are not going to grow the game going subscriber only and the constant infuriating decisions are not helping.Gilligan will destroy the AFL eventually his administration is hopeless. Essendon will bounce back up the ladder on the back of their non punishment and piss people off when they are playing along side the plastic teams in the finals.

So lets get this straight. They will eventually turn off because people cant come out and question umpires even though they haven't turned off in the last 40 years when you couldn't question umpires. So the question why will they all of a sudden turn off now when they never have previously? Gillions administration is hopeless but you said the same when AD was in charge and people have said it since I can certainly remember yet they don't turn off. Its emotive rubbish with no basis. As an example you were turning off after the Essendon rubbish. You said it many times yet you haven't. The game is bigger than the faults people look for.

I think the rubbish Scott said last night is a perfect example why you shouldn't say things. He couldn't even get the facts right.

So you completely deny the above figures? Just a fluke? Just bad luck?

It just happens?

Give me proof contradicts the above information that we don't continually get a bad deal from the umpires.

If you cant please keep out of the conversation. We don't require ill informed mouthpieces for the AFL.
This is one of the funniest posts i have seen on this website. Thank you for the laugh.

Please don't play victim Plugger. As for following the game for 50 years, so what? Things have changed a bit in 50 years you know. It is now the AFL, there are SC, and drafts, there are billion $ broadcast rights, there are clubs in Rugby League states, games are played at different times on different days etc etc etc.

So your answer have no basis in fact except "trust me, I have watch the game for 50 years".

The figures don't lie, but you just blanket deny and wont even consider anything but the AFL line, a lot like the drug saga.

That would never happen either, cant, this is the AFL, we are as pure as the driven snow.

Seems like you are the only one that knows the truth Plugger.

Winston Churchill said about fanatics "They wont change their mind and cant change the subject"

Hope you aren't like that P66, you seem a reasonable bloke when except when faced with overwhelming evidence.
You're posts are genuinely hilarious. Anyone who disagrees with you is an AFL mouthpiece. It's amazing that you cannot comprehend that anyone who is a St Kilda supporter would possibly disagree with you and they must have another agenda if they do.

>Winston Churchill said about fanatics "They wont change their mind and cant change the subject"

Might want to re-read this quote a few times for yourself buddy.

No they will not grow the game due to selling games to Fox to make quick cash and they will lose existing watchers by making them frustrated with the lack of transparency or interest in listening to fans concerns.

Firstly that is made up emotive words without basis because ratings are up this year and secondly what do you actually want to happen because I cant see anything that would improve the game if the umpires were questioned and how do you do it anyway?

The AFL needs to listen to fans and make rulings on the ducking from clubs, the perceived bias towards certain clubs, interstate umpiring differentials etc. They need to make it a more fair and level playing field with money form out side Etihad used to pay down their loan not force a few to pay for everyone. They need to address the unfair headstart they gave GWS and GCS, they need to help clubs like Brisbane set up for the 21 century etc. They seem to be happy to play reactive as an administration and are not future proofing the game. They are making us vulnerable to soccer and overseas sports in the digital environment. they can't have big TV revenue and grow the game, they need to think long term. I find the current AFL regime very poor.

Words again without any factual proof to say you are right. Ratings are up and crowds are up. If only other sports in Australia could say that. There has been mistakes in administration since I can remember but there are also supporters who think there are mistakes but its really just a club biased view. And you found AD administration poor. You said it many times. I'm guessing if you followed another Australian sport closely you would find their administration much worse than the AFL. I suppose we could go back to Ross Oakley in charge and have sides merged or fold. Love the fact that the last 2 administrations have wanted all sides especially when you follow a side with no money.

Brad and Chris make me LOL. Their teams get a arm chair ride every week, let still can't help but whinge.
Comedy gold. They would both end up in a mentel institution if they coached us.

On Ducking.
To me the framework is already in place.

Head contact must be avoided.
Did this player hit his head?
Who's fault is it that he hit his head?
If its his own fault, tribunal and charged with head high contact. No matter that its their own head.

No matter who get's the free, if these idiots cause their own heads to get multiple knocks, they are probably the same flogs who will be back suing the AFL for brain damage.
