First person to answer correctly gains respect from me, a much sought after commodity (which can also be purchased for a nominal fee - details via PM).

When Gary Ablett kicked his steepling snap from 40 metres out after snaring the ball from a boundary throw in, which other incredibly important (even match-winning) Gary Ablett goal did it immaculately replicate?

THE SON OF THE MAN!

Damn right it was. Did anyone else go as ape shit as I did?

This thread was really just to relive that goal, my favourite goal of all time.

Certainly did remind me of that goal.

That last quarter was absolutely unbelievable today. Especially loved the Mooney to Stokes and vice versa moments.

Otto in the Collingwood game, I read in 'the Mission' that Gaz went to him before that ball in and whispered to him to put the ball into that space, and boy did he do that. I thought about that when he kicked that one today.

Twas Blakey today.

The "cometh the hour, cometh the man" goal vs Collingwood in the prelim final.
That exact comment came into my head as it went through.

I was thinking at the time "this is tailor made for some Ablett magic" then he goes and does that! :D

Gee, I'm glad Hawthorn got rid of Ablett senior. :thumbsu:

i almost busted my ankle jumping on a flimsey MCG seat at that moment. my voice was shot to peices by that stage and my heart pumping roughly 580 beats per minute

Only 580? Actually, I think mine had stopped. I was semi-paralyzed all night.

I never went to that final - I went to the Cats v. Pies game during the season though, and the atmosphere was electric. I can't imagine what a 98,000 + Finals crowd, under lights, was like in a match that went right down to the wire.

Bingle, you're one lucky bastard, you know that? I watched it at the Northcote Social Club with a Collingwood mate and a neutral - great atmosphere within the pub, but man... Actually being there?

You lucky bastard!:thumbsu:
