On saturday night the top deck of colonial was closed. The bottom deck was 90% full and the middle (medallion) deck was half full. It was 'only' a 16,000 crowd so it made the atmosphere (after we had warmed up a bit) fairly good. They must have let the members and $14 entries in to the lower deck so perhaps less revenue than if those fans had paid the extra $8 but they must have saved on 50 or so staff by not opening the upper deck

Saints and bulldogs fans should ask why this is not done for you at lower drawing games. It seems so sensible.

Come to think of it, perhaps the MCG could close the upper decks for low drawing games and open up some AFL/MCC members reserves etc. That would be a saving on staff also
