I will be in Radelaide in July, would I be better off staying on Melbourne street in North Adelaide or in the cbd closer to Rundle Mall? I'm a cafe during the day pub/bar at night person clubbing doesn't interest me.

Melbourne street is okay but not particularly well endowed with good pubs and bars outside of the Old Lion.

Lots of cool little bars near the Rundle Mall end of Hindley street. City has far more options.

Melbourne St is pretty much only good for expensive but good food and cafes. But there are more cafes in Rundle St by day than bars by night in North Adelaide. Peel St or Leigh St just off Hindley for 'young professionals' bars, whilst Rundle St side has a good mix of bars and pubs.

Lady Burra brewhouse in Topham mall isn't a bad place for a pre game beer.

Curious Squire at the top of the hill on O'Connell street is a decent pre-game option - gameday specials on drinks and wings and great pizzas and smokehouse BBQ. Due to the parking restrictions it's not as busy as you'd expect for it's location. Only downside is their licence conditions mean you have to be seated to drink.

King head. Nothing but South Australian beer and wine.
