A few thoughts from a Dons supporter.

First of all, bad luck. It was a ripper game for 2 3/4 quarters yesterday, but the experienced heads of the Bombers stood up. Will provide great experience for you guys, and you can confidently look forward to many finals over the next few years.

-Despite getting heaps of the ball, I thought Peter Bell had little impact on the game after the opening goal.
-Pavlich should never have gone to negate Hird early in the game. I said it at the time that it was a poor move. When he was freed up Pav was certainly not disgraced.
-McPharlin looks a very very good player. If he was on anyone but a red hot Lloyd he would've won the duel. Future star.
-Farmer needs to control himself.
-Medhurst was lively and took the honours on McVeigh who has been very good for us this year.
-You guys need a strong body or two in the centre (Pavlich??). It's great at the wide open Subiaco but Bell, Cook, Farmer etc need a Jason Johnson/Peverill/Mark Johnson type in their as well.
-Where was Headland? He cut us up last time.

I found he was following the ball alot, and not reading the play like he usually does. He definitely needed to play tighter on his man, while he was running back/forth with the play, his man was running out wide and into space, creating many options. But like you said, this game was a great learning curve for all of our Dockers. We made many mistakes, but their only mistakes if you don't learn from them. I sure hope we've learned from this, and take it with us into the finals

good to hear from a supporter fro another club who does not come in and brag,well done mightydons.
I agree with you on Pav.I thought he should ave been lft to play his own game,but still thought he played well.

Bit harsh on Bell I think.He was without doubt in our first three.

McPharlin is a very good player and again I agree with your comments.I don't like the idea of him being an out and out minder of one player.Prefer him to be able to use his own discretion in the backline.Will be a good forward for us in a year or so.
Again hard on Farmer only once this season has he gone off the rails and he gets bagged.He will play a huge roll in this weeks game and in the finals for us.
Headland had more or less just got out of his sick bed to fly to Melbourne. He had been layed low with a virus and flew separately so as not to affect the others in the team.I thought he was pretty good early in the game.Will be a star for us in the remainder of the season.

I am sure most clubs would love to have hard at players like the Johnson boys but we aint got them so we will have to survive without them till we can blood some.

The Derby will be avery good game close all the way through but we will prevail and the margin will be 23points.
