A few trivia questions

There is an online competition with quite a few footy questions and the two questions I probably should know but don't are:-

1) Who kicked 5 goals in the 1990 Grand Final? (Most people will know this)

and

2) What type of animal made a surprise appearance at Arden St.?

There a few league and union questions too but I won't post them here.

There are quite a few questions that I would like answered by the St Kilda recruiting and coaching staff too but that is another story!

Essendon kicked 5 goals in the 1990 Grand Final.

But St.Kilda and Carlton and the Eagles etc etc didn't kick any in the 1990 Grand Final !!!

And an elephant appeared at Arden Street

Where's the trvia comp Sainter? Wouldn't mind taking a look if that's OK

Dan- wasn't an AFL fan in 1990, so hadn't ever seen the scoreline -wow! Bit of a bath really....

Off topic- what do you think onstitutes a thrashing? I've always thought that if the opposition doubled your score, you'd been officially thrashed. Agree? Or is it a certain margin, say 10 goals? Interested in other interpretations

Dan,

I'm sorry! I have heard that fact quoted so many times as a joke from Collingwood supporters that I should have remembered.

Believe it or not, I honestly forgot and was not having a go at you or any other bomber supporters.

Somehow I don't think anyone will believe me but I am telling the truth.

Thanks for the answers by the way!

Eagle fan, the competition probably isn't much use to you because the competition is at www.melbournetribe.com.au

the prize is tickets to the grand final and accomodation and that sort of thing but I am not sure if it includes airfares. Check it out anyway!

interesting point:
i reckon you cant be thrashed (walloped, trounced, routed) by less than 50.

But i spose if its bucketing down with rain and the wind is blowing a gale, and a team loses say 20 to 55, you could argue it was a thrashing.

However the way footy is played these days, a 35-40 point game, can still be considered a "close one" if one team just piled it on in the last few minutes.

A.
just an opinion.
