Ill just add that my favourite Port players of all time our Lockwood and Poulton. Because they were/are only average players does that mean i know little about football too?
No because Lockwood had genuine talent and had injuries permitted he would be one of the better forwards in the AFL these days. Poulton is a tough nut that would warrant respect from a lot of football followers. i like tough nuts and Poulton is one of those. What he lacks in skill he makes up in courage!!!!!! A bit like Torney!!!!!!;)

A little bit!!!!!!:p

I honestly think Poulton is a courageous player and as I you know Jars458, I love those sort of players Torney included!!!!!!:D

Incidently, did anyone else catch the footage of Lawrence on Fox League Teams last night?

Looks like the kid can really play. :(

Bugger!

You could go far worse than having 18 Poultons on the field at once.
He will make sure that if the other team is to win, they have to earn it first.
He has improved in his skills department, and IMO his lack of skills is a bit "overdone" nowadays. He also does handle pressure well.
Not in our best 22, but would be in many other sides.

As I have been saying for a while now there is no doubt Laurence Angwin can play and he has the potential to be the best ruckman in the AFL. His only problem is/was between the ears. That is the reason that I am so p*ssed off with Laurence. He can play and we lost potential superstar and got nothing in return. I am not a sort of person who doesn't wish others well but in this case I cannot say I wish him all the best. Hell I hope he never cracks the AFL!!!!!!

That was my point exactly. He has a great work ethic which I admire greatly. I guess Ian Perrie is one of those players that has bugger all skill but his work ethic cannot be questioned. I would much rather have a worker like Poulton in my team than a softc*ck Travis Johnstone!!!!!!;)

Give me the sublime skills of Johnstone over a hack like Poulton anyday.
I think you rate Johnstone a bit more than I do.
If I was forced to choose between the pair to be number 22 for the game, I would need to look at matchups etc. before deciding. Johnstone would not be an automatic choice.
His potential is still greater than his output, and he has been in the game for a while.
