Yeah a bit harsh on Bradley, he was good at times last year and I like him as a player but in the end he played 15 games for 25 goals ...
Statistically that's quite a good return for a 2nd string forward. That was also as 'the' key forward. It should be easier alongside Pav.

Barlow was on clear AA form when he broke his leg. How much improvement do you expect from him? If he plays much better than his 2010 form he'll be potential Brlowlow winner.

My tip: Lee Spurr.

If you have a look at 2011 stats it shows that most teams have at least 2 players kicking 30+ goals and the top teams have 3 so Bradley will just need to improve slightly and we probly need another. As I expect our team to get better overall Bradley will need to improve on his 2011 form to stay in the best 22.

Barlow's 2010 form would be great but he has to improve a lot on his 2011 form to reach that level again.

My tip: Lee Spurr.

I question how Lee Spurr can be a key improver, dark horse, the next Barlow, DT cash cow etc, when he cant make the 22 sitting on the ROOKIE LIST.

We are unable to promote any rookies unless there is an LTI - due to us having 2 nominated veterans (Pav & Grover)

I hope we have no injuries this year but I am also a realist (and remember last year vividly). Likely someone will free up a place soon enough on the LTI and I would hope Spurr is first in......and then becomes the next Barlow.:D

Mayne needs to do this. 1.5 goals a game should be his aim this season.

And perhaps Ballantyne, even with all the talk about him spending more time further up the ground...

If we're to score 100 pts a game/2200 pts a year all these guys have to boot 30 goals minimum each with a bunch of 30 goal midfielders. Look at Carlton last year, two 50 goal small fwds from memory in Betts & Walker, and Garlett not far behind with 48. These are the kinds of numbers we need consistently for us to be winning games. An even spread of big numbers.

My big improver for the year will be Pitt the younger.I liked what I saw last year in the games he played. He is now,if you can believe the stats,10kgs heavier that last year.A full pre season under his belt, a few games last season.Ripe to take over a big role for the club.

Structurally/Team
1: Scores for and against from stoppages.
2: kick in's
3: Defensive pressure
4: More mature bodies
5: Less injuries

Indiviuals:
1: Hill - hard last year. Will have better structures to block and feed him the ball. Also, will be freer injury wise and get better with tags.

2: Clarke - Bigs develop later. This kid will get better and better

3: Suban - at 48 games. His apprenticeship is all most up and hopefully is over his injury concerns.

4:Silvagni - with Dawson in the team, he will have better match ups.

5: Druffield - not a fan of him, but as the team does better so does Druffield.

I agree with you EastFreo if you're saying it's more about the team as a whole improving rather than this individual or that individual.
You can probably argue a bit of a chicken and egg case but I think that if the team is firing you can always point to a few individuals who are playing at better than their previous levels.

I can see him improving too. Not sure how much impact he will have though. If Hill gets the heavy tag, would be good to have another option as an outside player who can deliver to the forwards.

Neither guys are young but I think Pavlich and Duffield are most likely to lift their influence.

I know its hard to improve on Pav but I think the Lyon game plan and a permanent forward role pushes his influence on games way above what he's been doing in the last couple of years.

I was really disappointed with Duff's last season but I think, even more than Pav, the Lyon plan will see him bounce back hard. He'll have to get in the side and then toughen up quite a bit, but I'm backing him to have a big year. If he doesn't I doubt we'll see much of him with the plethora of similar types on our list.

I'm really optimistic on the chances Zac improves significantly - again. But it is unlikely his first year as a key forward/ruck is a super productive one. If he is serviceable and plays well enough to maintain a spot in the team then that is a huge bonus. I'm hoping for 16-22 games (not including finals), a decent number of goals (25+) and a good enough presence up forward that guys go to him on a regular basis.

I just hope the muppets in the media and in our crowds don't get on him too much when he isn't leading the Coleman mid year.
