Does anyone know if it is illegal to obtain private conversations without consent and share them round? So basically, if a girl went through a guy’s phone without his consent, took screen shots of private conversations he had with a friend and shared them around to other people, would she be in trouble from a legal perspective?

Not really. However, audiovisual varies between states. But there are some grey areas. You can use it to protect your own interests. In court it often is seen as petty, but could be used. My understanding is that it would be more likely in defense than attack.

Yes it is illegal. Nobody is in 'trouble' unless the matter goes to court.
