A little annoyed

I know we have to support the club, in particular in the financial sense. But I was a bit annoyed tody when in the mail I got raffle tickets from the club. With their performance this year they have a nerve to be asking for more money!
I'll probably end up buying the whole book though!

llok, i see where you're comming from, and quite frankly (SP? but how good is that word?!) i agree with you.
but, it is true what you say, they do need as much money as they can, because of what they are going through especially...
any ways, hopefully it will soon be over, and things can get back to normal! and that includes our form!!!

Did you guys also receive an invite to the Hall of Fame dinner..

The price for that is $125 and black tie...out of my price range I am afraid.

Look I know I go on a bit about our club, but I am cheesed off with them always asking us supporters to dig deep with expensive outings for supporters......what the club has to realise, is most supporters cannot afford these expensive dinners, etc....or at least compensate by having functionsthat are inexpensive at least a few times a year...or a bar-b-que for the supporters who have had to endure so much pain this year...but instead they have sent us a book of raffle tickets...it should have been an invite to a "free" bar-b-que for all supporters at Junction Oval.

Storm had a great function last Sunday...Comedy Hour staged by the players...with some nibblies and cheap drinks $25.....have the Dees got a lot to learn how to keep members.!!!
I know footy is always fund=raising, but the club has to give something back to the members.....

What do you guys think??

This club needs a complete overhaul in its marketing!!!!!!!!

actually, i think thats a really good idea! its a nice way for alot of melbourne supporters to get together, in a not-too-expencive way. also not so formal!
well any way, i think its a good idea, and the melbourne fooy club should do that!

I totally agree! My mother and sister are Bulldog members and they seem to be going to social gatherings all the time!

I've been a Demons member for at least a couple of months now, and I haven't heard a thing about social gatherings! I would love to meet some fellow supporters (at least outside of a chatroom or online bulletin board), but nooo....

I mean, even some info about what's going on the club would be nice.

well the club does have many functions throughout the year, but there is always a catch..... u either have to be a part of a certain group. ie redlegs or she devils or something....and of course it is over expensive.

The players held a review kind of thing last year at schwarta's pub last year that was cheap $10 a ticket....... (happy birthday to Oxy as well. 29 today) it was a ladies nite as well so you guys wouldnt have enjoyed it much. but we dont hear much. i know they r having a players ball or something at the beginning of august but i dont know the cost.

Look i tell you what, u guys make some suggestions about low cost fundraisers for supporters, like Ms Storms ideas, and if u want, i put them to the club...... just to give them a few ideas.. cos god knows they need em.

i am concerned about the lack of feedbak from Melbourne this year...last year i was so pleased with Melbourne and they were definately the best club always sending stuff and communicating with the members. I am gonna really think about buying a Melbourne membership again next year but because this year ive seen and heard very little from them!

I agree The Hall of Fame does seem quite expensive. Though I was nearly going to pay a similar price to go to the Team of the Century until something else came up which meant I couldn't go.
As for things like B.B.Q's. How many people would really go to those things? I don't think it is that realistic. The only cheap entertainment the Club offers is the Players Review which I'm not interested in. That cheeses me off though, they ask supporters to pay for their end of year trip when they are earning 100's of thousands of dollars a year!
