Thank goodness we won that one - the Hawthorn umpire whinging would have been deafening (and I would have been leading the charge ).

Hats off to four unheralded blokes who had big nights. Tony Woods, Mark Graham, Butch Vandenberg and Rayden Tallis. Also Monstaa! Thompson and Johnny B Barker, who both had stinkers for three quarters but stood up when it mattered.

Well done Hawks - we have progressed since last season. And, as Allan Jeans would say about next week's game: "What an opportunity!"

Do you know what was going on down in the pocket when Mark Williams (No 6, the bloke you asked me about) was yapping over the fence at some Roos supporters? He seemed a bit upset.

Interesting how the Hawks have reverted to their early season form at the right time, while the Blues also reverted to their early season form at the wrong time.

Chook, from the (v.Power-biased) radio feed I listened to, the umps very nearly handed Port the game - that decision mid way through the last to not pay a 4 bites of the cheery mark in defence for Hawthorn and the resulting goal to Port - well, given what was ridign on it, what a disgrace.

That said, commiserations Port fans. You'll be better next year.

nah not sure bout that Chooky but my guess is that it was something to do with a dear friend to us Roo supporters ...Tattoo bearded man GRHH he is well known for his over the fence antics at players and for making a general **** of himself with his loadmouth so my guess is it was something to do with him!

Sensational Hawks, tremendous effort tonight, a thoroughly deserved win, in spite of the pitiful umpiring.

And ODN's, I feel your pain mate, the Crows reverted to our early season form last week too, terrible when it happens in finals.....

But goooooo the Hawks!!!!!!!
